He's home with all family.  Hospice is wonderful, doing a great job of preparing his daughters and everybody.  They gave him a week.

This spring would be 4 years since diagnosis.  He has been a trooper, amazing though how quickly the end comes.

My grandpa passed away a couple weeks ago from young cancer. He was a pretty young considering he has a grandkid my age. The worst part about it was during his final week or two he couldn't really talk because he couldn't get enough air in his lungs to properly work his vocal chords, so we didn't even really get to talk to him. Since then I have officially quit smoking, even though I only did it occasionally. Not worth even a .0001% of that being the way I go out.

Chemo first, then surgery depending on the chemo.  They don't think surgery on the liver may ever be an option.  Best hope is the chemo kills the cancer on the liver then take out the hopefully smaller cancer in the colon.

Nope.  Just some random defect.  Based on the size and the fact it's spread, they estimated he's had it for two years.

Hope your Grandma's scans come back clean.

Forgot to put this here but around Thanksgiving time found out one of my aunts has "not very good cancer."  Tumor was 3 inches by 3 inches, she is in her first round of chemo and already had many radiation treatments.  Scary thing is she is the second(after my mom having cancer) of 3 sisters(mom, 2 aunts) to get cancer.

Hate seeing this thread back at the top. T's all around.

My little cousin that I mentioned on page one that has neuroblastoma, isn't doing so well. still going through treatments, still fighting, but the cancer has spread and he's on morphine every couple hours. Sucks.

Not sure if I should admit this, but the little guy is in the children's center in OKC and Stoops stops in regularly and always unannounced. Really cheers him up, and I've pulled for OU the last few years when they aren't playing the Cats because of it.

gma tobias was recently diagnosed stage 4 lung cancer.  kinda a bummer to deal with because i'm essentially her main caretaker but also a blessing for same reason.  not treating her because she doesn't want to suffer and all of her good friends have already passed.  my family is really terrible at handling emotions but it's kinda been fun to get my siblings and everyone together to just try to have a good time.  pretty much just trying to have 24/7 party time until it's not time to have 24/7 party time

cats.
