What diets work for you people? General speaking, a lot of people usually try to go on a diet at some point in life.
Just a little excited guys, started a diet a week ago and already lost 10 pounds.

Diets don't work. Has to be a lifestyle change.

are you just wanting to drop some weight or are you thinking life change?

Most diet's are tough to stay on IMO.

I'm a weight watchers person.

well, weight watchers is pure and simple portion control and cut down on processed carbs.  Like a baked potato isn't bad but a dinner roll is a lot.  all the fruits and veggies you want, pizza not so much.

I know it's not the healthiest or best diet, but I'm on Atkins, Low Carb diet. First two weeks is strictly no carbs basically, can have very little, but then you can have a little more and mostly becomes portion control after that. And also cutting out sweets.

Simplest rule to follow is that if you can identify the plant / animal something came from by looking at the food on the plate, then eat all you want.  If not, avoid it.  Seems similar to what cire said about weight watchers.

i do like this.

if i just commit to working out regularly everything else seems to go better too. it's the weeks that i get lazy and don't exercise that my diet goes to crap, which is the biggest component of weight loss/gain.

I can identify the plant/animal that all of my meals come from, regardless of whether it's healthy or not.

Makes sense. Strange thing, that 10 pounds was seriously without barely any working out at all. Gonna try and workout a lot this week and see what happens.

Cut back on beer, eliminate pop, don't eat Chinese every night, throw in some veggies from time to time and you'll be good

moderate workout will notice a big change. up to 5 pounds a week but it will make you a lot hungrier so you'll need to find a way to stave that.  for me it is drinking a crap ton of water.

For the next 6 weeks, my diet is anti-atkins

1st 2 weeks-bread & green tea
2nd 2 weeks-bread, rice & green tea
3rd 2 weeks-bread, rice, veggies & green tea

I will allow myself to have vitamins and a protein shake after workouts but there's nothing quite like a good meat and dairy detox to get the old metabolism going

Kinda ironic considering your goEMAW namesake died of starvation.

Also been taking vitamins as well. Yes, I'm drinking diet pop now, but eventually wanna cut it out all together. I'll be sure to drink a crap-ton if water as well.

As someone that has done low carb diets that lead to ketosis, those 10 lbs are water weight. In short, carbs will make you store water weight (via glycogen).

You will not lose weight faster while in ketosis. You will lose fat faster. When in ketosis, your body uses fat almost exclusively for energy whereas on a low calorie "normal" diet, your body will raid fat and muscle. So weight loss is similar, but you'll retain more muscle on a super low carb AND high fat diet. A high protein diet with low carbs and fat will not lead to ketosis. Your body will convert protein into carbs when this done.

I don't know if it's necessarily healthier, but I feel better while in ketosis. YMMV

This. Once you learn to eat in moderation and mostly healthy (of course, let yourself have nights off once in a while), you can keep weight off with exercise. Set plans just make it feel like work/school.

Here's my five best tips

Bring a sandwich for lunch get the heaviest whole grain bread you can find and only use one piece folded in half.

sub steel cut oats for morning oatmeal rather than cereal.

don't eat a portion of meat bigger than your palm.

go one meatless day a week.

walk run a mile a day.
