Tuggle waw essentially brought in to rush the passer.  Childs and milo, essentially, took tre's place because tre is worthless against big 12 offenses.

Milo has nothing to do with it

The eff he doesn't.  It only proves how worthless tre is.  He has no spot.

But you are correct, I switched tre getting beat out by a juco walkon (milo) with a rb turned into a lb (child's).  Either way, tre was not good enough to see the field and doesn't have the skill set to do anything except hold a block of wood.

he's still a great vocal leader. He is also not bad. He is pretty good.
Luke's stock is rising as Winters continues to validate his greatness. Add Luke and Winters to my list! Also, EMAWBLAST! and Tobias!

tre  will play where AB  played last year  and I  believe our coaches are smart enough to make changes  that will allow  Tre  and the D  to be as  effective as possible.  Obviously Tre  doesn't have AB's  insane  athleticism  but  he  has  always been a physical  player and a sure tackler.   In  fact,  Tre's  willingness to take on  blocks vs AB  running around them may be a better fit for what will  have to be a an assignment  sound D that appears to lack  playmakers  outside of Zimm

I can understand some of what zacker is saying.  For as good as Tre is at motivating teammates/give speeches, he hasn't played at a level of greatness like many apparently think he has.  Maybe the expectations are too high for him since he started as a frosh (<--freshman reference) and had the big tackle against Miami, but he doesn't strike me as a star player...yet.  Hopefully he'll stay healthy this season and turn into that player we all think he can be.

I agree with zacker. Tre was essentially a 2 down player last year. He'll have to shoulder a bigger load this season.

While I think the casual fan may overrate his play on the field, I think he may be underrated in terms of his leadership and intangible stuff. That will be crucial this season. (not as much as him being healthy and on the field, though)

he is very average. if people didn't overrate him so much then zacker wouldn't have to make his awful arguments for why he isn't a world beater.

i'd give him more support if his twitter feed wasn't a sob story.

the biggest problem that walker has is the fact that he has such a great nickname that i want him to be better than his body lets him be.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Walker's pretty good but not great.  He came off the field a lot in passing situations but all teams go to the nickel against spread teams and in obvious passing situations.  Lamur and Childs both excelled/specialized in pass coverage and we were not going to take AB off the field.

Generally don't post from anywhere (esp. ESPN) on other's posting, but these ISU fan quotes in the Big 12 blog for media days are effin priceless:

Quote
Ring
ISU is top 20 in attendance nationally. Record setting numbers for each of last two years. Come to Ames. It is a great place to watch a fun team. Ranked teams beware....

- If by fun you mean watch corn fields (Tre) and trying not to drown then yes, it's fun

Quote

Brian
Its going to take at least a Big12 Championship...and a run at a national championship for the nation to take notice. I think Rhodes can do it though.

-I have more faith in the fighting squawks at accomplishing this feat under Chaz than Rhodes ever will

Quote
12:17 PM
Paul
Does Coach Rhoads feel that Iowa State is a sleeping giant? They have an incredible fan base that is truly loyal. Big attendance numbers the last 5-10 seasons. What is it going to take for the rest of the nation to take notice?

-Winning more than 7 games a year is a start
