Twitter said that individual sports may look at creating federations for each sport, whatevs that means.

Also said that there are way too many D1 schools and it is just wasting kids and taxpayer's money.

Said that abandoning the NCAA is not what everyone wants to do, but is a remaining last resort.

Reading between the tweets, it basically was him saying that the NCAA is mumped, needs to change immediately, that all the major programs agree on this, that a select few of programs are cheating their asses off with no repercussions, and that all the big programs wouldn't mind leaving and forming a different org if it doesn't change.

It seemed very much so to be a very public and vocal challenge to the NCAA.

To add to this, Bowlsby said that there are 70 schools that win 90 percent of the championships in the NCAA and, “We have a bunch of others that don't look like the others yet are trying to compete.” He added that he believed it was time to think about federation by size (sorry, TCU) and scope and perhaps by sport.

uh...so where does KSU fit into that projection of 70 teams?

In the context Bowlsby is using, KSU would be division 2 football. KU would probably be division 3 or 4.

yeah but that says NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS...not just the football championship. i would have to think being that KSU has none, they would be maybe middle tier
