The goals are still 10 ft tallzomg srsly how fukkin weird is this place
The court has been flipped the court 90 degrees during one of their remodels.
Elite reference, Luke
You'd think it was an elite callback from the Lukester, but then you remember that he probably just saw the movie for the first time last week.
@Big Sam, was it really flipped 90 degrees? I don't doubt you, but I couldn't find anything in cursory searches. This scene from Hoosiers includes a couple of far back shots that show the same orientation ~3 decades ago as now.

Anyone know if the bleachers in this place actually had that wacky color scheme back in the day? Or was that, like, just kinda fudged for the movie? It's not a very Butler-y color scheme at all, but I do think it's adorable in an old timey way, like how Ahearn Fieldhouse has bleachers that are clay-colored, for some reason.
I don't know a ton about Hinkle Fieldhouse except that I love it. It is a gargantuan relic and a complete architectural oddity. A cool day off in SkinnyBenny world would be to just go there, break in, and spend like three hours taking photos from every odd spot in the arena. Also I'd go to the Butler University Archives and look at tons of old photos and articles about that place and I'd get to the bottom of this court rotation issue.
