a lawyer bro of mine told me that he and his wife have swapped plates for the cam reason.  He said that the cam has to match the car descript with the plate to be able to issue a ticket.  Also, if he ever gets pulled over, he can innocently say "oops, wife and I accidentally put the wrong plate on the wrong car".

:nono:  First thing a cop does on a stop is run the plates.  If they don't match, you then move to an unpleasant conversation with officer friendly.  Almost all instances of switched plates are indicators of auto theft, and will make the officer very alert and sensitive.

Not touchy-feely sensitive, more like "step out of the vehicle" sensitive.  Respond poorly at that, then officer friendly begins to mentally  evaluate how much force they will need to use to make you comply, like "baton your ass" sensitive.

Try getting a speeding ticket from another state that you were just driving through mailed to you :blindfold:

Lol.  That is easy. No letter, no court, no payment.  Just throw it away.
Wasn't in any rush. Still haven't paid it, to the trash it goes....

pay it.   MOST states are now linked and a warrant in another state can and will be enforced and can cause you to lose your license here.   Not like the old days any more...

Admittedly, it has been about 10 yrs since I did this, but it has worked very well for me since.

That said, one of my employees did get busted at the entrance to Fort Leavenworth two yrs ago for having an outstanding ticket in some lake county in south Missouri.  They wouldn't allow him on base until it was paid.  Pfft.

yeah, see that kind of stuff regularly at Forbes, though depending on the warrant and your record, they will sometimes invite the Sheriff out to give you a free ride too.

Well, I would like to think they would be alert and sensitive before they baton'd my ass.   Otherwise, I would just feel dirty about the whole thing.

Mine was at Highway 71 and Bannister.  I was going to Home Depot to buy a shop vac.

yeah, you got a ticket, but think of all the extra time you were able to spend vacuuming.

Missouri Court of Appeals strikes down municipal red-light camera ordinance, reversing its own decision a few years back. http://www.courts.mo.gov/file.jsp?id=67236

To recap, one of the initial problems with camera citations was that it was pretty easy to get out of them - just say you weren't driving the vehicle and the city could hardly prove otherwise. So, cities developed a clever scheme to treat these as non-moving violations. By not assessing points to an individual's license, they could instead simply fine the registered owner(s) of the vehicle, much like a parking ticket, and never have to prove that they were actually operating the vehicle at the time. Kansas City and St. Louis followed suit.

The Missouri Court of Appeals initially upheld the scheme, but has now reversed itself in a subsequent case. It has concluded that the municipal ordinances are contrary to state law, which evidently requires that points be assessed to licenses for running red lights. I was hoping the court would reach the more common-sense conclusion that's it just stupid to pretend that running a red light is a non-moving violation (how is that possible?), but at least the Kansas City ordinance is invalid, for now.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.
