I fly there Monday
"For now, we acknowledge that there were no problems caused by the 777-200 plane or (its) engines," Yoon Young-doo, the president and CEO of the airline, told a media conference on Sunday at the company headquarters.
Initial reports said two people were killed and more than 70 injured when the Asiana Airlines Boeing 777 crashed on landing at San Francisco International Airport. If confirmed, it would be the first fatal accident involving a Boeing 777, a family of twin-engined long-haul aircraft which has been in service for the past 18 years. With more than five million flights, according to Boeing, it remains one of the industry's solid workhorses.
Kind of remarkable that only two people died (so far). One of the teenage girls who died was killed when she was run over by an emergency vehicle that was driving up to the plane. You miraculously survive a rough ridin' plane crash, then die immediately afterward.
I lost my life in San Francisco, waiting for the plane to land right, but I found it in a smokecloud. The tail was falling off.
been thinking about this a little - they have to fire those pilots right? or find them no-flying jobs. they can't put them back on paying flights. really kind sucks for them (if true).
according to random pilot BBSs, korean pilots are apparently bad pilots(racist? probably)
