I'll give you good public transportation. Otherwise, meh. Every other city has bars and restaurants, too.

It's been a while since I've been to Fayetteville but I can't imagine their restaurants are in the same league as Chicago's.

Love, love, love the people in NYC and Boston. Typically very straightforward and direct, but friendly. When I worked in Chicago --well, I have some bad stories about the people who call Chicago home. Highly unpleasant. (Some were OK. None were great. And one still sends me email forwards constantly. It's all stuff I saw two weeks ago on Facebook, but she doesn't Facebook! :chainsaw: )

Pro tip: If some one compares Chicago to Fayetteville, they don't know what they're talking about.

In the pigaggie thread there was a kid that said the nicest place to eat in Fayetteville was a Red Lobster or something.

I recognize that Chicago and Fayetteville aren't the same, but Fayetteville has charm, something Chicago lacks in spades.

It lacks that classic Fayetteville charm.

That looks like every other little town in the midwest.

Chicago has plenty of personality. Did you leave the airport when you were there?

ORD is rough ridin' awesome so that isn't it. maybe she flys exclusively through MDW?  :sdeek:

yeah. there was a weekend a few months ago where i seriously considered flying by myself from mhk to ord and hanging out at ord for six hours and then flying back to mhk. fanning does fly southwest a lot though so maybe midway left a bad taste. makes sense.

I will admit to liking MDW airport better than ORD. What a pain in the ass that place is!

And yes, I've left the airport. Did you see the part where I said I lived there for awhile? I lived in Shaumburg, northern suburb of Chicago.

Chicago is not awesome. It's just fine or OK. Also, still not Fanning.

oh man schaumburg. i spent a month there one week the summer before college. we stayed at uncle ray and aunt judy's and walked to the white hen pantry to get eggs and bacon every morning. t's and p's. sounds like your beef is w/ schaumburg though and you should probably leave chicago out of it.
