saying KC is the best city in 500 miles is kind of dumb too.

They are all pretty much the same.

KC, Des Moines, OKC, Omaha, Little Rock, St. Louis etc are all pretty rough ridin' similar.

If geographic proximity to anything is of no consequence for you, then why would you live in Chicago?  SF, SD, Boston, NYC are all superior to Chicago.  No self limitations.

I liked Chicago the best. I'm planning on moving overseas for a while in the next year fwiw.

No self limitations, like pete always says.

St. Louis is fun...wish we had more in driving distance for a quick weekend trip.

ITT a bunch of KC homers being giant KC homers.

Try leaving your Kansas bubble for a while so you can look back at this and laugh at your dumb opinions.
If I ever see you in Chicago I will spit on you.
I don't even believe you.

I bet if we ever saw each other in Chicago we would forget this goEMAW nonsense and be bros   :D

He will rent the apartment above your garage in Lakeshore when you make partner.

There is no "in" Lakeshore because it's not a neighborhood, silly!

I don't know.  You might spot my "I LIKE LENEXA" bumper sticker on my car and tell me how Lenexa's actually a loser KC suburb and how I should have lived in Westport or something.

I would definitely comment on the uniqueness of an "I LIKE LENEXA" bumper sticker, that's for sure. But I would try to do it in a friendly way!

You have to add the "east" to the end of it? :dunno:  http://www.chicagomag.com/Chicago-Magazine/April-2010/Lakeshore-East-20-Best-Towns-and-Neighborhoods-in-Chicago-and-the-Suburbs/

Silly Clams always calls the Country Club Plaza "the Plaza." Guess I am used to it.

I would prefer Chicago over SF, Boston, and San Diego.

Also, I think outsiders view KC more far more favorably than its residents.

Everyone in Chicago just calls that South Loop. I guess you win this one?  :shakesfist:

Letting one person (an internet person no less) have bearing on the way you view a city is kind of weird.

But I'm perfectly fine with you liking it less.

also fwiw I tried to talk about the snobiness of the the residents, not the qualities of the city but pete and co. decided we needed to hash out every pro/con of KC and the surrounding area.  :bill:

Would you like to suggest an alternative emoticon for me to use in place of  :bill:?

Since you feel so strongly about it.

Thanks for getting this thread back on track ctc (even if you don't know the difference between Lake Austin and Lake Travis).  If you haven't been to Franklin BBQ your opinion about BBQ doesn't matter to me.

This is pretty much the only Dallas thing that would qualify, except in Dallas everyone asking pretty much already knows because they all are from Highland Park and went to public schools.  Pity the Catholic and Jew.
