Help this family out: http://www.today.com/news/good-samaritan-who-saved-young-girl-dies-injuries-6C10480520

That's terrible.  Tried to do the right thing and broke his neck in three places and severed his spinal cord.  At least the little girl was able to be pulled from the water by others with no harm done.

Still, it was pretty dumb of him to dive.

Yeah, sounds like he would have been fine had he jumped in feet first?

Sets a pretty low performance standard for Samaritans, IMO.
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

You can at least survive with broken legs.

Good? He's a mediocre Samaritan at best.

This is like a holiday weekend and the Samaritan b-team is on duty.

I just can't get over the image of him, with one good arm, holding the child with his teeth  :dunno: swimming in a circle for who knows how long until the wind carried them ashore  :bawl:

How about those Samaritans though? One of them is not a complete dick a couple thousand years ago and they're attached to every good deed for the rest of recorded history. Oh, you're almost dead...I guess you can ride my donkey to the next town. I wasn't really riding it anyway. Don't bleed on my stuff.

It's the best story in the bible. Some would say that's another low standard.

Thing is, it wasn't even a real guy. Jesus was telling a parable about a hypothetical samaritan.

Well, he really could have made him seem nobler if that's the case. Making the hero of your story a somewhat good guy really doesn't inspire.

You know Jesus, always worried that his shtick sounds believable.

You didn't read the right article.  He didn't save her.  He jumped in and royally mumped himself up.  She floated to the top of the water and others pulled her ashore.  He floated up a minute or so later face down.  They pulled him in too and found him not only paralyzed but not breathing either.  He's a dumbass spaz who was just as likely to have seriously injured the girl as he was himself when he jumped in like that.  Nothing like some media lies to honor an idiot.  The worst part is that the people that actually saved her didn't get the credit.  Just the rough ridin' dunce that didn't do anything but ultimately kill himself.

I didn't find Bread's version, just saw a whole bunch of headlines calling him a hero.  No way he helped her with those injuries.  He's a dumbass and also a fraud.

So he wasn't holding her in his teeth swimming in circles for hours until they drifted ashore.Whew thanks for clearing that up Mr.Bread, feel so much better now.
