craft beer bar. the taps are little chalkboards and you can draw the design on the little chalk boards:



all the TVs are tuned to old pre-sound B&W movies unless there is a game or other event on. 30 beers on tap (refridgerated lines) with over 100 in bottle. we have 10 staples and 20 changing beers on tap. outdoor seating is the absolute tits. tons of greenery and shade and it's fenced off from the sidewalk with black iron railing.

He said Marshall Theater already has several businesses ready to move in. He said there will be a yoga studio, a coffee shop, a clothier and a corner pub in it when finished.

I'm not. I'm sure KK is being sarcastic, but as much as I hate Wade Radina he knows what he's doing and couldn't make it work. And it's not the first coffee shop to fail in that area. And no one is ever going to view Poyntz as the place to go drink, especially anytime after 10pm. As much as I'd love a pub like the one steve dave was suggesting to go in down there, it wouldn't last more than a year.

Option 2 Proposal:

Stock exchange type bar.

Rolling marquees and digital signage of craft beer prices.  As certain beers run low (kegs float, etc.), the price goes up the digital signage content changes.  Updates every 30min to 1hr.  Super simple concept.  Also scrolls drink specials, event dates, etc.  Fantastic business happy-hour hangout.

Manhattan is getting big enough that one or two pubs on Poyntz could support itself.  Different demographic and will attract additional retail.

You can make a boat load of cash waiting tables at Applebee's, but it won't make you feel good inside when you have to sing those songs on peoples' birthdays.  Canadian guy I know told me that.
