My kids just reminded me that last year Ranni sent me a text on Mother's Day. It said "you are a great mom. Happy Mother's Day." I later learned that some wives of other coaches got the same message. He likes for people to think he's a great guy.
Last year I was fishing just outside of San Francisco Bay on Mother's Day, and when the text came I just thought about how lucky I was not to be moving to New Jersey with Desire's best customer.
My kids think it is funny now, but after they spent a week in Florida with Ron and his kids, they told me that the kids were great, but they all felt intimidated by Our Hero. My daughter looked at me with as much compassion as possible and said, "he may be a big shot coach and all that, but he's an ass."
The day she was born my hope was to teach her to demand kindness and integrity (something the gE crowd may have noticed I have a little trouble with).
Mission accomplished. She took one look at Ranni and knew he was phony, shallow, and an ass ;$&.
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there (Ron's ex included, because she's raising some really great kids in spite of their POS father).
