I went to Cosentino's Friday after work and it was a cluster eff. They're was a bomb threat, a bank robbery, and a cop shot the robber downtown all in a matter of hours. It took me 45 minutes to get to my pad because they almost had every street shut off with cops. I had to get back on the highway and go around downtown to get back over by the quaff. Sheesh.  :Yuck:

you should get a bike
I know. I was driving back from work, so I was already in my car. If I would have known, I would have prepared accordingly.

A lot of crap went down in KC over the weekend. Even Afentra from 96.5 The BUZZ got her ass kicked trying to stop this guy from taking out a girl. So weird. Maybe it's winter depression?  :frown:

801 fire and Shawnee shooting too....pretty crazy Fri-Mon.  I've never seen more cops anywhere in one place than I saw Friday downtown.  they were all pretty on edge too or I would have given them some high fives for their quick response.

Anyone hitting up Restaurant Week this coming week? Even CocoBolos is getting in on it (I haven't been yet, heard it wasn't quite as good as MHK).

yes sir.  Capital Grille is probably the best "deal" but it's tough to get in.

Hitting Le Fou and Bristol so far....haven't really looked at all the options yet.

union station has a CRAZY BUGS! exhibit right now. there's no real bugs, just big animated things and interactive displays. maybe it would freak her out but when i was there the kids seemed very interested.

it can actually be easier to see the animals in winter with the reduction in foliage.  Only the snack bar at the main entrance will be open.

Also, this place in old Shawnee is kinda dirty, smelly and run down but a 3 yr will still enjoy it

yeah, the zoo is not packed and no leaves blocking views in the winter, but the animals are not out much and aren't very active when they are.

oh, bummer,   it's a neat place for kids.   I've been thinking it's about time for Mikey Jr. (4 1/2) to experience the KU Museum of History.   I always like it on school trips.

this place is free and has some cool bones and skulls that kids can hold, a bunch of owls and hawks with broken wings to look at and snakes and turtles in cages.
