I think slip-n-slides are probably the biggest real-life letdown relative to the commercials.

I just remember going way slower than the ads and getting grass clippings stuck to me everywhere.

when I was like 5 my mom got me this for Christmas:



And hid it very poorly in our basement. I innocently (really!) found it and opened the box and just started playing with it. She found out and took it away and gave it to my cousin for Christmas. Probably the most traumatic thing that happened to me in my childhood.

This makes me sad michigancat!  Shockwave is like the peanut butter that completes my jelly sandwich.

Got this for my birthday one year.  It ate through batteries but sonic the hedgehog was never cooler!  This was one of the great systems.
