Is the new Big 12 TV network going to be as crappy as it was last year, or are they going to provide a national channel like the Big 10 and SEC networks?

We're going to see more games on FS1, I'm sure.  For games that aren't held back for your T3 deal, I'm sure KU will be on ESPN, ESPN 2, and FS1 more often than not.  You guys are going to have better national exposure than Kentucky, OSU, etc. because KU will be nationally televised on basic cable as opposed to niche, sports tiers.

I guess I was just assuming the rest of the conference was on national tv every single week last year just like we were.  :dunno:

Currie seems a bit aloof for the UT crowd.  I don't think he'd present well to the UT geezers and their ohl money.

He came from Tenn and they loved him there.  His specialty as assist AD was getting olds to let go of their money.

The last year has been nothing but a John Currie campaigns for another job with the help of K-State athletics.   Between the videos and the letters he's built quite a portfolio to present to perspective employers.

I don't see how UT doesn't hire Tom Jurich from UL - the guy has hit on 3/4 FB coaching hires and Kragthorpe was a rising star and hiring a guy like Pitino is exactly what Texas basketball needs to do.  Hell, even the baseball team has been good.

I guess he isn't a Texan or have any ties to Texas but that hiring track record is pretty great.

My personal hope is they get somebody with deep roots in the Big 12 and Texas, somebody like Veatch I guess (Mack getting the job is my pipe dream)

Bob Bowlsby is reported a candidate.

Zenger will aggressively try and get Currie to go to Texas so he can get the K-state job.
