bet the farm on ksu/wvu. holgerson is trash.
seriously though. the ksu/wvu game is in the middle of the season and is the sandwich game of three straight home games. kstate will beat wvu by no less than 30. mark it down. the daris double gold pick of the year.
I agree with you. K-State should roll past West Virginia and will probably kick the tar out of every team it plays at home, and that includes Oklahoma, which shouldn't be favored. I'm pretty high on K-State's offense this year despite the QB change. I also think the non-con schedule is very favorable, and lines up similarly to what Oklahoma State had last year with a new QB.
The defense is an atrocity. I think it's going to be pretty rough and will again need to rely on being opportunistic, clamping down in the red zone, forcing turnovers, etc. By season's end, the D might make some strides - but I think K-State will have to outscore teams to win in September and October.
The swing game is Texas on Sept. 21. A win would put K-State at 4-0 with an extra week to prepare for Oklahoma State. I give the Cats a great chance to steal that game, improve to 5-0, and then you've got B2B2B home games.
I'm expecting K-State's season win total to be 7 or 7.5 and will cut in line to bet it over.
How's that for optimism?
