Bart Ray Gun did a nice job with the article, it's good read.  Here are a couple of excerpts...I won't post the thing in it's entirety because it's premium.

"We had to really change our focus," the reigning Big 12 Coach of the Year said. "We thought we might lose one player somewhere in the mix, but I don't think we could have anticipated what happened."

"No, I had no clue," Weber admitted after Rodriguez left to be closer to his family in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I thought he flourished in our system. He got better and improved, obviously the stats showed that.

"After the season, he was very, very disappointed in the last game and he talked about what was going to happen the next season and him possibly playing together with (incoming freshman) Jevon Thomas. It was definitely unexpected."

Quote
"One of the reasons we took a couple transfers is I just didn't want to have so many freshmen because there's no way you can keep them all happy. I've been through it before, you can't do that, so it allows us to have two quality transfers that are both athletic that when Will Spradling and this next group leaves, we'll have some upperclassmen which I think is so key.

No, Weber probably had high expectations then fans before Angel left. He still has higher expectations. BTW Jevon is going to be our best player next year. We should finish between 6-4th next year.

I like how you put the 6 in front of the 4. You like to give the bad news first, huh?  :fatty:

Has anyone who has one the Big 12 gone from 1st to 6th in one year before?

OU would of won the big 12 if Blake didn't get hurt before they played Kansas... The next year they went 4-12 in big 12 play.  :dunno:

can't read the whole article but of the excerpts posted (t-y Pete) only the part about Angel leaving surprising Weber is objectionable.

If Jevon is actually our best player we should be a tournament team

The Gopowercat article is hazardous to your health.

oscar=Ned Yost =Charlie Weis

The only difference is that oscar landed on a team that wasn't a train wreck when he got there.

oscar has no real idea where this is headed. If this paragraph doesn't terrify you, than I don't know what will.

"Will has already played the point at this level, but I hope we don't
have to play him there the majority of his minutes," Weber said. "When
he has to play the point the whole time then he doesn't get to use his
other abilities, his ability to shoot and do some of things he does so
well.

but thankfully

"You'll have Nigel and you got Shane Southwell who can play some."  (point guard)

oscar has a way of taking a bad situation and making me feel even worse about it!!!!

No. But if he is, it means one of two things:

1. He kicks ass and thus we are pretty decent, much better than expected. probably 3rd in conference (distant behind KU and OSU)

2. Shane and Gip regress tremendously and thus we suck, even worse than expected, missing the NIT.

Bart Ray Gun did a nice job with the article, it's good read.  Here are a couple of excerpts...I won't post the thing in it's entirety because it's premium.

Quote
"We had to really change our focus," the reigning Big 12 Coach of the Year said. "We thought we might lose one player somewhere in the mix, but I don't think we could have anticipated what happened."

Quote
"No, I had no clue," Weber admitted after Rodriguez left to be closer to his family in San Juan, Puerto Rico. "A year ago, we had to have a lot of talks and in some ways re-recruit him and I understood that. Obviously he had a good season. He went through some injuries and toughed it out.

So, if I'm not mistaken, after the Georgetown transfer redshirts this year, he will be a sophomore in 14-15...just like the 5 high school players we signed  :flush:
