With all the recent discussion I am reminded that it is awards season here at goEMAW. Last year I typed up a People's Choice review of the Mercury's horrific taste in restaurants with a rebuttal. This year I'm just cutting to the chase and drawing up my own best of with some additional reviews mixed in.
The first category that we will break down this year is Aggieville restaurants!
Best Aggieville Restaurant: Rock-A-Belly Deli
It is a sentimental favorite. The patio, the drinks, the hummus, the sandwiches, the service.
Runner-Up: Taco Lucha
The up and comer. I don't care for their sig cocks, but they have consistently made tweaks to their menu that have improved it. The patio is the best in aggieville, the service is great, the bar staff is seasoned.
Show: Aggie Station/So Long
Yes, I cheated again. Do. Not. Care. These are the two best burgers in aggieville. I think So Long's Nancy's and raspberry bean dip (or their disgusting nacho cheese dip) are gross. I think Aggie Station needs to add something on the menu without 2000 calories of pork belly because even I have to draw the limit somewhere. These are nitpicky problems, but they should and could be fixed.
So Long: why don't you make a better salsa? Good grief just steal something off the Lucha menu. And how about making a legit wrap or burrito or something?
Station: You have a small menu. Fine. But does every rough ridin' thing need pork belly (bacon) on it? Is that like a rule?
Both: I'm being hard on you because I love.
What say you? Let's head to the phones. Open lines.
