Goobie has always been a kind of matter-of-fact guy, not prone to the stellar color Hud delivers. That said, Goobie knows his baseball, but doesn't sugar up the commentary like Hud does. We listen to find out what Hud says next, and we trust he gives us another gem.

Maybe years of listening to Hud made it impossible for me to tolerate any other baseball announcers who do not share Hud's excitement and happy-go-lucky demeanor. He is a pretty cool dude. If you get to a game early enough and see him walking around he will talk your ear off for a few minutes if you get his attention. My grandpa and I chatted with him probably half a dozen times over the years before Angels games. I have a Rex Hudler signed baseball somewhere in my mom's house back in California.

Rex is the worst color man to ever be allowed on a professional broadcast. Trying to imagine someone being worse and collecting a paycheck hurts my head.

I guess I could see how he'd be fun to laugh at if you didn't care about the game though. His youtube vids are pretty great so maybe I'll try my best to smile the next time he rhymes about Chen in the pen to win for the millionth time of the season.

We all make mistakes, and I made one when I said I was done with Rex Hudler. I was really impressed with him. He's a genuinely kind and positive guy.

Rex was just on with Soren and it was a treat.

Soren does his "Final four quickies" at the end of each interview and it took Rex 10 minutes to get through it. Each question Soren threw at him was answered and then followed up with a anecdote. Then at one point he was talking about the "hotties" that were with him when they were visiting soldiers. "Gotta bring the Fox Sports hotties."

Moose getting a hit away from .100 last night. During the play... ol' Ryan Lefebvre calmly saying this could have it and what not. (Enter REX): "GEEEEET OUT!!!!".

Lefebvre just shuts up. Ryan doesn't seem to appreciate him the way gE does.
