i think in a situation of different era's, different competition, different equipment, etc. etc. that yeah, it's probably the best way to measure who's better.

Comparing people who play golf today to people who played golf 50 years ago is just dumb. The equipment has changed so much that there is just no way to have any kind of a fair comparison.

tiger benefited from entering the golf scene when there wasn't a single decent player in their prime. right now it is studs on studs on studs. tiger's eliteness will always be blown out of proportion unless he starts winning majors right now.
