i don't really trust the total elev gain from strava because it didn't feel like we did an "extra" 2k ft of climbing, but the elevation profile looks correct.
What did you use for energy on the way up? I "bonked" hard on my first major hike and quickly realized I had to utilize those hiking specific quick energy type snacks to keep from hitting the wall.
lots of snacks, all over the map really. protein bars, caffeine bars, fig bars, honey stingers, granola bars, etc. i didn't bring any gu energy gels which may have helped. started with oatmeal and coffee at 4:30am pre-hike.
also we left all the heavy stuff at the campsite and made the climb with only light packs with food and water (which is why i forgot my charging block and my phone died). some folks climb up quite a bit higher with full gear and set up camp closer to the summit. seems crazy to me, but they get the benefit of ascent/descent on separate days, and they would get to view the alpenglow at sunset and then a mountain sunrise, which i did not :(
