Questing for visions with a toddler in tow is more difficult logistically, but very much still possible ... and all in all less difficult than fishing when a bull moose shows up 30 yards downstream.

Yep, camped 2 nights there. Had already been to Bryce and Zion a few times, so stuck around Kodachrome/Grand Staircase mostly. Drove Cottonwood road, explored the narrows a bit. Went to Escalante for ice cream.

then a night in Winnemucca NV, and home to Oregon. That was an interesting drive through the desert.

Ice Lakes basin outside of Silverton. I actually posted a photo in here from a trip last year. Fairly easy to moderate hike that is fairly doable in half a day. The wildflowers are going crazy in the high country right now.

Actually thought about it, but was with a group of extended family and didn't get much time away. Mrstdaver and I bailed on the group for this hike and that was about it.

Yes, the wild flowers are at peak right now. Mrstdaver couldn't stop taking pics. Tons of purple. The color of the lakes was what stood out to me. Ice Lake is just amazingly blue and the green Island Lake is surreal. Definitely one of the most beatiful hikes I have been on.
