Talked to some big-time Donors last night...
« on: April 04, 2013, 08:58:15 AM »
...and here's what was discussed (some of this we already know, but hey...)

--LHC LHC Bill Snyder didn't return to "calm the waters". Bill came back strictly to make Sean "head coach in waiting". Sean is Bill's guy, and he will 95% likely be our next coach.
--Sean runs EVERYthing. I know most people know this, but apparently Bill is slowly letting Sean take over everything.
--Brent Venables, Jim Leavitt, Mike Stoops, Mangino, etc., were never seriously considered to replace Snyder his first go-around. Snyder is STILL bitter that these guys left K-State, and he doesn't want them now. IF the new coach is someone other than Sean, it will be from with-in the program.
--Snyder was up in the air on the Prince hire.
--Snyder absolutely can't STAND Currie. Snyder sub-consciously wants Weber to "fail" so it can prove what an idiot Currie is, and run him out of town. Currie would be crucified if he ever touched Snyder, so Weber's failure might lead to Currie's eventual firing.
--Charlie Weis sent over "spies" to mimic almost everything that K-State does in football. His words (paraphrasing) "You get your asses over there and find out exactly what they are doing over there. I want to do it like that".
--Perkins (KU AD) loved the Prince hire. Apparently was very nervous that K-State hired a "home run" hire.
--Sams is Bill's guy. Would be shocked if Waters started over Daniel.
--Dalvin Warmack is the closest thing to Sproles the coaching staff has ever seen.

--Basketball wise, verdict is still out on Weber. But he will have a short leash. If K-State fails to make the tournament in any year, he may be gone.
--Lon Kruger is still EMAW, but he would never return to coach here.
--Dana Altman felt that he was pushed out of K-State from within, but wouldn't rule out a K-State return.

Like I said, most already know this info, but hopefully some of this is new.

those donors must be really big-time to be able to hack into snyder's sub-conscious

How could Charlie Weis possibly sneak spies past LHC Bill Snyder's lockdown security?  Seems likely that's 95% dubious.
"I’m the man of the hour, too sweet to be sour. What you see is what you get and what you don’t is better yet. I’m the women’s pick, I’m the men’s regret and if you pick against LHC Bill Snyder you made a bad bet.”

I am all for Sean Snyder taking over after Bill. Surely he has learned a few things about how to be a football coaching wizard.

Bill offered Leavitt.  So they are wrong there.

Why would Snyder be bitter about Jim Leavitt leaving K-State?  It was for a head coaching job.   Del Miller left K-State for a head coaching job, is Snyder still bitter about that?    That makes no effing sense.

The only parts I believe at all is the fact that HCBS doesn't like Currie and that Sean runs a lot of stuff, and that LSnyder wants Sean to take over for him.

Oh, man, it would be sooooooooo weird to rehire Altman.  Maybe not a bad idea, though.

yeah, that was another funny part. "felt that he was pushed out". I don't know, I just felt like they were hinting that I should get out when they said stuff like, "GTFO" and "Hit the road jerk" and "You will be fired in one month so take whatever job you can find"

Leavitt may have been interviewed, contacted, etc., but apparently never seriously considered. I think the SFlorida incident was more of a reason why Leavitt didn't get hired more recently. Also, Del Miller is Bill's close friend, idk if the same can be said about Leavitt. JMO

I love insidery information. Haters can suck it!
Also, you don't have to be an asshat and point out that some of the insidery stuff is wrong. If you don't realize that not all insider info is accurate, then that is your fault!!!

Regarding Leavitt, I think KanSt43 is talking about him being the head coach instead of Prince, and the rest of you are talking about him returning as DC.

Can you guys imagine having Sean as our head coach?  I mean, what would his nickname be?  Hollywood? Nope.  Swag? Taken.  I mean, we are pretty much out of options at this point.

For the record, I am fully against this unless we come up with a really good nickname.

Also, would we be the only D1 team to bring their star punter from a past team back to right the ship?  I bet we are.
