My disgust with this entire situation knows no bounds. Something must be done. The blame lies squarely with Self.

ljmhawk,   You are a freaking moron.   And this has nothing to do with you being a KU fan.

While i will agree that a 14 year old can usually handle listening to vulgar language, a 3,5 and a 8 year old dont need to be exposed to that

They dont need to grow up either.   They are 3, 5 and 8 year old kids.

Any Kstate fan that would agree you on your view of "they need to grow up"  is also a moron

and 3 and 5 year olds don't need to go to the game either...it's like running with the bulls then crying when you get trampled

I took my nephew to the game today (He turns 9 in June) like any good uncle would do. I thought it was going to be a family atmosphere so I accepted my brother's (9 year old nephew's dad) tickets even though they were in the KU section. My nephew heard several KU fans make some pretty horrible comments about people who wear purple's sexuality and then a few of the fans were calling me names. I can handle the names but it took every bit of strength I had to be the bigger man and show my nephew that sticks and stones... etc. I probably shouldn't say the words here because I know there are some high schoolers on this board but needless to say I will not be bringing my nephew to any more events involving KU. When I told my brother about the language going on he made some phone calls to the KU athletic department to complain. Wouldn't be surprised if he stopped donating.

Do you have kids, ljm? I think when you have kids or become an uncle, like I am, you'll wish people would watch their language in front of your kids. If language isn't an issue are you going to curse at your kids so they will be tough kids who suck it up and go to public school?
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

to be honest taking someone under the age of 5 to a sporting event is stupid. alcohol will be involved and chaos takes over. it's a public place with die hard fans! you really think they are just going to sit there and not express their frustrations? come on...if anything you need to teach those little kids that "booing" every call against Kstate is unsportsmanlike ;)

as a high school student (i go to school with jaksie(we are in a band together too )) i can honestly say that i've never heard of the things bill self was saying.  like steve dave, i tried to look up some of them online, but honestly couldn't even spell them.  i assume they were all really nasty things the way he was saying them though.

also, the "masturbation" hand gesture might be grounds for a class action sexual harassment lawsuit.  i'm not sure, i took business law last semester and it was a pretty cool class but it didn't really cover sexual harassment, mostly just covered torts and stuff like that.  maybe bread or trim or lsoc or bsac know the legal ins and outs of sexually harassing 19000 people, and what we can do about it.

That's really sad that ljm and his buds need to get all liquored up and make buffoons out of themselves just to have fun at a sporting event. Now, I enjoy a nice Argentinian Malbec as much as the next guy. But I would NEVER drink to the point of intoxication. I would be setting a horrible example for my two grade school aged children. Ljm, I really hope you and your friends at least made the smart choice of designating a sober driver.

I could give oscar bitching lessons. I have several ku fans who sat around me at sprint tonight who can vouch for me. My fiancée could also help, she was nearly as impressive as me.

My wife wanted to quit watching the game, she was so pissed at how big a pussy Weber was being. (true story.)

some little ku kid a few rows in front of us just kept turning around and staring at us with wide eyes. whatever, someone had to teach that kid how to cuss and I'm glad we were there to do it.

It's just a difference of opinion.  Some people think its cool to loudly curse in front of little kids, some people think its classless.

Did you guys see Self do the "v" with his fingers and the licking thing to Holly Rowe in post game? I fainted and my my wife called our pastor because she thought I died from shock.
