Not surprised.

Its not likely OSU is going to shoot 15% better than us again (they were 20% better on 2s).

I think its a close game, but the Cats win late.

going to be a great game.

sprads needs to get comfortable on the bench next to weber for this one.  he can't match up with their guards to save his life...not even forte.  if they go small it plays into webers hands a bit...unless shane gets into foul trouble guarding nash.  If nash plays well they are tough to beat, need to shut that guy down and force smart to shoot from outside.

OSU shooting a much higher percentage wasn't so much a matter of luck, imo.  I think it was more a matter of layups/dunks they got all afternoon

I don't disagree with that, but I think part of that was playing at home. They will still get some of those, but not as many.

Yea, I can't imagine they would get the same amount of those.  A good JO day would go a long ways this afternoon but who knows what JO shows up anymore

Hope Weber figures out that action where Nash gets the ball on the block and scores or where Nash just dribbles down the lane for a layup.

Why can't we install a zone defense for tonight? Is it really that hard?

If you haven't worked on it at all (and we haven't), yes. There is a lot of communication that goes on in a zone defense between players that takes practice and game reps.

Being a pussy and a ton of miscommunication will be more affective than whatever the hell our strategy was last Saturday. If allow the other team to drive the lane 100 times untouched for a lay-up/dunk in one game, then you need to change your defense, no matter how last minute it may be.

That can all be done within the man defensive scheme as well. Change your ball pressure, how you defend screens, or your rotations on help, to name a few.

Zone defense is in the same category as playing with 2 fouls in the first half with oscar, he's just not going to do it (unless the situation is drastic, like in Lawrence). But I don't think any situation will be so drastic as to call for a zone defense, because he's a classic "man only defense" coach. I with he was a bit more flexible on that, but its obvious that isn't going to change, just like the foul thing.

imagine how much more shitty our man to man defense would be if we spent time practicing a zone defense.   :sdeek:
