Fool's gold
« on: March 09, 2013, 04:33:34 PM »
In the first 8:53 of the 2nd half, we shot 7 3-pointers, making 3 of them. At that point we led 53-45, having outscored OSU 23-9 in the half.

For the next 10:20, we shot 2 3s, missing them both, and got outscored 24-9 on the way to the game being all but over.

The minute we stopped launching from outside, we were dead men walking.

Wonder what it would have been had we shot 16 fts as well

I'm not even melting down. Pretty sure the original post in this thread is valid statistical analysis.

Besides, zacker melts down better than I ever could.

I meant on the board in general, not just this thread. Conspiracy theories can really take away from the self hatred in moments of great anger.

Did we intentionally stop shooting them, or did osu make adjustments to keep us from shooting them?

They did adjust and extend, but we passed up a ton of open (enough) looks still. It was clear we weren't getting crap done in the lane against their athleticism, and we failed to recognize and do whatever it took to get outside shots.

Keep launching.

they were out on some players but not all. Will, of all people, had plenty of good looks that he didn't shoot. I wonder if something was said to emphasize the inside game.

Sure seemed like that was the case. Looked like we were inadvertently playing right into OSU's hands by focusing on driving ourselves. Like oscar wanted to get to the line more.

Had nothing to do with Shane sitting with 4 lolz or osu grabbing and chucking through the lane all game.

Why take a 3 when you can get to the lane and draw contact and [shot zero fts] get credit for a to while the other team does nothing and shoots fts all rough ridin' game.

I'm sure we just abandoned shooting open 3s down the stretch you rough ridin' simpleton masses.

37% 3PTA. Could've been more. I agree, after we got the lead our offense and looks were pretty terrible.

Same here. Also, it was clear we weren't going to help our FTR because they were way too athletic for us to get into the bodies of.
