To me, this hurts just as much as '98. Please spare me the basketball isn't as important bs, I really don't care. I can't get enough anger to be mad about our horrible mistakes down the stretch, or Marcus Smart being college basketball's Ric Flair. I just feel hurt. What sucks is there is a little glimmer of hope in my heart for Baylor or the P66 and that's going to be violently stomped out too. I'm so miserable nearly an hour later my stomach hurts

It does hurt. Basketball is a lot more personal than football. You see the players and coaches up close, for a lot more games. You can see their emotions a lot more. Good thing about bball is there are more "real" opportunities. We can still win a trophy in KC. We can still make a deep run in NCAA.

it hurts bad but not 98 bad. Still a ton left to play for; winning a couple in KC or the Ncaas will go along way to easing the pain.

I will say that I fear we will look back at how close to a championship were today and feel like we might never get this close again.

I think it's called a sense of perspective. I mean, our football season was a complete waste of time, since we were so close to a national championship, right?
