this thread reminds me of a few years ago when i would read ku messageboard threads about ku bball players and the ku bball team, and their posters were so stupid that i would know more about their players and team than 99% of them did.

Yeah, kinda sad what has happened to this place since I came back just for basketball season.

Nope he wasn't, and nobody on our team right now is. We are at the top of the Big 12, so suck it Beems

Wrong again.  Gipson was top 150.  So was Southwell.  Rodriguez had offers to Louisville, NC State, and Miami (FL) and was recruited nationally.  Nino Williams was a 4-star.  Maybe do some research on your own team next time.

Damn, sorry Luke but you kinda got clown suited then.

Do freshmen typically win the POY in the conference?  I thought that POY was for the SO-SR's and Freshman POY was for the best freshman.  Isn't that how they treated Beas?

1st team - Smart, McClemore, Withey, McGruds, Jackson
2nd team - Angel, Osby, Brown, Ejim, Clyburn

POY - Rod (if K-State shares) or McClemore (if KU outrights).
COY- oscar.

I would agree with all of this (tough call between Austin or Ejim for last spot on 2nd). I think POY is Smart.

Conf road games, McLemore is only ave 11.5 pts, shooting 42.6% FG and 21.4% from 3pt.
KU won at Ksu Osu and Isu and Ben was not even close to the main reason (25 whopping pts on 36% FG in those 3 gms)

STFU Wackycat!  Beems could buy and sell your ass at will, what with the massive trust fund he's got brewing.

I kind of want to make some sort of filter where only a certain list of posters can talk to KU posters or about KU in general. A lot of people just can't handle it. Then, if we want, we can take off the filter and unleash these guys on them for laughs. I think everyone wins in this scenario.

Why would we create some troll filter to protect someone who would let themselves get trolled by wackycat?

I would give COTY to Bill Self, assuming he doesn't blow the game in Waco.

Why? He has 4 seniors and a lottery pick starting and KU was picked to win the Big 12. Weber has the same conference record with less talent and has greatly overachieved.

Weber has his team exactly where anybody who looked at last year's results with the players he had coming back would have expected. Bill's team has faced a ton of adversity, and he has produced better results than any other team in the nation. It's pretty much a wash, but I would give it to Bill if he wins the Big 12. If Weber wins it outright, I would give it to him. A very strong case could also be made for Travis Ford, but I feel like giving him an award would be rewarding him for the shitty job he's done up until this season moreso than the good job he's done this year.

What adversity has KU faced?

3 game losing streak, including a game to TCU. Most coaches would have lost that team.

I'd argue a coach that lost to the worst team in the 100+ year history of the conference doesn't deserve a coach of the year award.
