They just won at WVU by 16 (we won by 1).
They just lost to KU by 1 in 2OT (we lost by 4 in reg).

They have a surefire NBA player in Smart, and I bet that Brown and Nash get looks.  Plus Forte can be deadly from long-range.  They are a very good team.  They are extremely dangerous.  Their only home loss was to KU.

Basically, if they're a pretty shitty team, then so are we...

Yeah, to call Wooly mediocre is being disrespectful to truly mediocre teams. I'd say Doc's run at NU was more along the lines of what true mediocre looks like.

You have to consider the situation at that time as well. That culture around ksu basketball was bad. Very apathetic. There were seriously tons of fans that were fine with wooly ball. Considering all the factors, I'd put the job wooly did as halfway a between bad and mediocre. And I understand the people that call it mediocre. They are usually older, of course.
