Big 12 Tournament
« on: February 24, 2013, 12:22:59 PM »
As it stands right now, we'd probably be playing WVU for our first game for a shot to play OSU. However, if OSU wins out including their game against us, we drop to the 3 seed with a shot of playing Baylor.

Can we win in Stillwater?

I think we can win there.

I know this, having the K-State Fighting Marksmen Cats be in the Big 12 title race in late Fweberary is some of the most fun I've ever had as a Cat fan. Only 2010 is equal in my enjoyment as a Cat fan, though 2008 is only slightly below this.

I mean, this is really fun.

really?  maybe it is due to unrelated externalities, but for me, having half the conference incapable of beating the other half has made this a pretty boring big 12.  i mean, i'm glad we're in the right half, but it's still been boring.

like tomorrow for example.  i'm going to voluntarily participate in an activity that will likely cause me to miss some of the game.  not because i'm not interested or anything like that, solely because i have absolutely no concern that kstate might lose.

Yes.

When its been 36 years since we've won a conference title, I could care less if the league is down.

I don't care if Tech vs WVU provides an entertaining Wednesday night game.

And I don't mind preparing to go to a game tomorrow night where we have a 97% chance of winning.

'10 was great, but even when we played at KU with 2 games to do, we were already 2 games back and a league title wasn't really a factor.

well, to me that's an important part of enjoying big 12 bball (add in not caring about the new teams to the lack of parity as a contributor).

This is great and so was 09-10. That Sweet Sixteen Xavier game is my all time favorite basketball game. But this is nowhere near as exciting as being ranked #1 with realistic MNC hopes mid-way through Nov and going into the Big 12 Championship.

yeah it was. 2010 will be hard to beat because of xavier alone. that year was more special though because it had been a little while since k-state had had a big year in either sport. these days, we're winning dr. peppers in both sports, on covers of magazines, etc. so it's more expected.

Overall 10 had better wins (so far) and it was a really fun team, but being in the conference title race makes this year equal (to this point) to me.

We'll see how it ends!

what i was trying to get at, is that if kstate ends up as the 2nd or 3rd seed, i will be able to go to the thursday game without taking time off.
