It's not human nature to maximize.  And the world is a much better place for it.

with interest rates as they are, they return or no return argument is pretty pointless.

yeah, if all you'd do with the money is let it collect dust in a savings account.

I don't know, my accountant told me I should by a couple of new trucks before the end of the year and I'd be fine

I guess that means I'm fine

Got a letter from the IRS saying I owe $3K+ from 2011. Clerical error fixed and now they owe me $43! Sweet.

How do you stack up?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

No. It feels like I'm a dumbass for giving the government an interest-free loan.

Had a similair thing from the State of Kansas from 10 when i moved to MO.  They kept badgering me for it over and over and every time i called and said hey you idiots owe me $30 just leave me alone and you can have it they would agree.  Then 2 months later i'd get the same thing all over again.  Eventually they gave me money after wasting probably 12 mailings worth of postage and paper and probably 5-10 man hours.  Dang the government is efficient.

California seems to make calculating exemptions more difficult than other states. I did the IRS calculator thingy, did the standard deduction and still ended up with like $3k from California and $2k from federal. And I know at least two people that are owing like $10k because of incorrect exemptions. Also my company makes it a pain to change. weird.

Negative tax rate.  Best part about paying for school up front.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.
