is Texas playing Big 12 again this baseball season or do they start in their new shitty inferior conference? hopefully in SEC so we don't have to kick the crap out of them constantly.

Wasn't sure where to put this - bizarre that it's not in Omaha and that it's going to the college baseball hotbed that is Overland Park. Good for OP, I suppose. And, good for the floundering Museum at Prairiefire.

Bat Cats debut tonight against a mediocre Cal team at 7 pm on MLB Network. Games tomorrow/Sunday against Boston College and Georgetown are on Mlb.com.

A top 25 team should win all three, so we'll see what happens...

absolutely brutal baserunning, this game should be going to the bottom of the 9th. Rivera not scoring there is unforgiveable.

Won 2/3 this weekend. That’ll do, I suppose. Lots of ranked teams lost to inferior competition this opening weekend

Cal was preseason 7th of 11in the Pac 12, so not a great loss, but not God awful like some of the losses last year.

Giving up 20+ runs in two games to the preseason last place team in the Patriot League...

Well done, Pete. Looks like hiring an assistant high school pitching coach is working out real well.

Good news for Rob is that his predecessor was terrible - and that's before he got fired for giving out info about his own team to gamblers. So, plenty of runway for Rob to turn the program around.

Staff ERA is 6+ even though more than half of our games have been against awful teams. Every starter has an ERA 5+. Our "ace" is 8+ with opponents hitting nearly .300 off him.

But, when you hire an assistant high school coach to be your pitching coach, what do you expect?

Once again, a Hughes team will have to slug its way to relevancy and we've all seen how that goes.

We open Big 12 play tomorrow against another bad team (Cincy) which lost 25-2 against a top 25ish Coastal Carolina team. We'll see what happens.

why did we hire this total loser pitching coach?  actually, to rephrase, who did he know at KSU?

Rudy Darrow's resume before K-State below... worth pointing out that none of the D1 teams where he coached were good at the time he was there (Central Oklahoma - a D2 program - was good, but they've been a good program for 20+ years).

Norman North High School, assistant coach (2021-22)
Central Oklahoma, assistant/pitching coach (2019-20)
New Orleans, assistant/pitching coach (2016-19)
Oklahoma, volunteer assistant/recruiting coordinator (2015-16)
Norman North High School, assistant coach (2014-15)
Nicholls State, assistant/pitching coach (2010-13)
