I enjoy Waldo as far as nightlife goes.  Prolly #2 or #3 for KC bar districts.  Seems like a younger crowd than P&L or Plaza, plus you are a cheap trolley ($10/night) ride from the other districts!

http://www.louieswinedive.com/

They have a downstairs bar/lounge area where they have live jazz on Tuesday and Friday nights and some decent cocktails. Would be a good spot for a laid-back date.

The Well is okay if you want to hang out on their upstairs patio during summer weeknights. Weekends are kind of meh. Lew's is a fun spot if you want to watch drunk people from 1:30-3 am. It's the only place in Waldo that stays open until 3. It also has a decent breakfast sammie that can hit the spot after a night out.

Overall, Waldo is a better place to go if you're wanting a more laid back night or you live close and want to walk or take a cheap cab home.

waldo is actually only 3.5 miles from the plaza and 2.5 miles from brookside, so you can just run your ass down there too

Waldo is the tops. The absolute tops. Bobby Baker's is my favorite dive bar in KC. And Taj Mahal buffet for lunch? YES PLEASE! Waldo Pizza on Mondays (8.99 large carryout), now we have the Bier Station (ELITE) and don't forget Remedy for classy upscale drinking.  But my favorite place in Waldo is The Gaf. Good drinks, good Irish food, chill atmosphere, just the best.

You know what else is great about Waldo? The chains that are there are badass also! Aldi! Chipotle! Planet Sub! Quick Trip!

Fanning this is going to be great. And the cherry on top? CF3 is right down the street.

You will find a drunken AppleJack in Waldo an awful lot. The Gaf and Bobby Bakers in particular.  :eye:

Quinton's didn't let me in on a saturday night about a month ago because they said me and a filly were "visibly intoxicated." now, i know what "too drunk" is and i was not "too drunk." so look out for that, fanning.

Got kicked out of Quinton's once because I raised my voice while telling the bartender I'd like to close out my tab. The [redacted] was just standing behind the bar watching girls dance.  :dubious:

75th Street Brewery has The. Best. Beer. In. Town...from a locally owned brewpub

They have a mug club where I'm pretty sure you can bring in your own mug and drink from it for less than regular price. Also, since they have amazingly tasty beers, anything that is beer battered - like their fish n chips - is also better than most.

The place has been around forever, and they have live music some nights - not sure which, but the internet knows.

Not sure. I think Kennedy's tanked and they wanted a different brand for the place. Kennedy's didn't have the foodie vibe that Remedy does.
