I hate the people that constantly scream YOU GOTTA FOUL completely disregarding the situation. Perfect example, the end of the Wisconsin/Michigan game. People criticized both coaches for not fouling on the last two possessions of regulation and in both cases I think the critiques were misguided for the same reason.
Both teams had multiple fouls to give on those possessions. The analysts said that Wisconsin should have continually fouled Michigan until the time ran out. After the first or second foul Michigan could have just ran a sideline inbounds play to get a three attempt off of the inbounds pass that would have been a much cleaner look than Hardaway ended up getting. On the Wisconsin made shot, the same thing happened, Brust caught the ball at mid court took one dribble and took a heave. Again, the analysts called for a foul when Brust caught the ball. If they fouled there UW would have had a sideline inbounds play in which it's conceivable that they would have gotten a much better look than the running 40 footer they ended up getting.
I just think you spend all of your time and preparation working on how to properly defend and then when you need it most you don't trust your preparation, seems weird. Glad that good ol' Kenny P validated me.
