If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

my cousin has to feel good about this. he got arrested a few days ago for possession with intent and trying to rob a Dara's Fast Lane. now he's no longer the "new guy" at Riley County Jail.

Wtf is this? Love triangle? 2 students caught cheating in a class and killed the one who knew? This smells scandalous.

Yeah it was really strange. You could look into the 2nd floor windows and you couldn't even tell there was a fire.  Everyone was making jokes about having 14 emergency vehicles at a tiny apartment fire, and then we saw a stretcher go in and come out  :frown:.

Also of note, that guy and his brother went to my grade school. His brother was in my class and I used to carpool to football practice with him.  His mother is insanely sheltering. The type of parent that wouldn't let a PG movie be shown to a 6th grade class. These two were always obsessed with guns and the military. I could have seen this coming from a million miles away.

so was this a fire that they intentionally set with the purpose of #burningitdown?

or just completely negligent behavior that led to a fire?

My thought is that it was a prank that led to a death.

You should've stopped it, in my (the most ethical on this board) opinion.

Not a lawyer but I don't think felony murder would be the charge for a prank gone wrong.

Felony murder rule (Kansas)
For the felony murder rule in all U.S. jurisdictions, see felony murder rule.
In the state of Kansas, the common law felony murder rule has been codified in K.S.A. 21-3401. The statute defines first degree murder as, among other things, homicide in the commission of, attempt to commit, or escape from an inherently dangerous felony. Inherently dangerous felonies are defined in K.S.A. 21-3436 and include armed robbery, arson, and aggravated burglary.[1]

Judicial interpretations

In the case State v. Hoang, 243 Kan. 40 (1988), the Supreme Court of Kansas held that the accidental death of a co-felon during the commission of arson could support a felony murder conviction.[2]

In the case State v. Sophophone, 270 Kan. 703 (2001), the Supreme Court of Kansas held that a felony murder conviction could not be supported if the co-felon was killed by lawful attempts at apprehension by a police officer.[3]
