Something I've noticed about K-State fans
« on: February 07, 2013, 12:40:05 PM »
You guys get happier and more excited when KU loses a game than when your own team wins.  Why is that?  Is it because you enjoy the fact that KU fans are sad and disappointed after a loss?  Do you get some sort of self esteem boost when this happens?  Just curious.  I got to thinking about this myself last night, and realized what a dick move it would be for me to want KU to win a 9th straight Big 12 title.  Like, seriously, nine straight?  Who needs nine straight?  It's time to share the love with someone else this year.  I hope you guys get to experience what it's like to win a Big 12 title.  I really do.

I'm speaking for myself, but I get really excited when the Cats win.

KU losing does nothing for me, it was just exciting to watch history last night.

Beems, don't mail it in, you know you want #9. It's also too hard to explain to a crimson shades KU fan. You're not around it all the time. KU fans are insufferable in everyday life. It's nice seeing them shut up.

Beems coping mechanism? Saying he doesn't want the title so when they lose it he is not so sad.

beems, most people are excited that ku lost because it means that now we are tied with little bro for first place.  if it were any of the other 8 teams in the same scenario, we'd still be pumped.

Seriously, though, isn't it kind of sick how humans get excited and giddy over someone else's pain?  There's no better example than in sports.

Beems, do you like watching Mizzou lose? The answer is yes. You could have saved us from a thread if you did some self talking.

This is pretty much everyone, are you new to life? Your team was victim to possibly the biggest conference upset in the history of college basketball. Stop being a hypocritical crybaby and be happy that your team is actually relevant enough to be laughed at by every college basketball fan everywhere.

Maybe, but honestly, I just see it as being kind of selfish.  I mean yeah I want KU to win all of its games, but at some point, maybe it's better for the Big 12 if someone else wins the conference every once in a while.  It's hard to appreciate something when you always expect it to happen.

KU and its run of five #1 conference finishes over the last eight years -- and finishing as the #2 seed in the other three years -- is indeed extremely impressive.  Congrats.  I would wish success like that for my Cats!

If you're feeling pain over a road loss in February, when you're still on top of the Big XII, get the round of 64 and 32 in Kansas City with probably 12,000-15,000 Kansas fans in the arena, and likely to win another league title, and you have arguably the best coach in the country, then you're taking this too seriously.

Pain is pain.  Obviously there are different levels and more serious examples, but it's still pain no matter how you slice it.

Do you think more flies fly to a piece of cow crap or a beems thread? I started thinking about that last night.

Of course, that's part of being a fan of a team that has a rivalry with another. And honestly, K-State fans may be worse because we've been ridiculously bad against KU for a long, long time. JMHO.

Then add on that last night loss was probably one of the biggest major college regular season league upsets ever and it just piles on.

Still hurts to lose like KU did last night, especially to a team that is complete dogshit.
