also i don't appreciate clams' smugness in this thread.  if you want to start a snotty thread bragging about yourself feel free.

but this is a thread about contacts.

Dlew, a good way to get back at him would be that if he does start a thread bragging about himself you should talk about contacts in it.   :fatty:

just get those lenses that change color in the light.

KKK has those, and he looks like a dork.

Also, I like my pair of glasses and my sunglasses. Do you contact people never wear glasses again?

There are some days when putting your contacts in is just a no. If you have seasonal allergies those days happen more often.

thanks for that, Pike.  that was great.  you'll be my number 1 source for contact related matters until further notice*

*like maybe when contact technology advances, then i'll have to talk to a current user.

:dubious: I guess my 18 years with contacts and helping you with Ed's game was good for nothing

I only have one bad eye. Like, it's terrible. The other one is 20/25, which was good enough that I only wore one contact from 5th grade to college. But then I realized how bad ass I look in glasses. So then I got glasses, and fixed my 20/25 eye even though it's kind of unnecessary.

Anyway, The only advice I have is to get the ones that you only have to take out/put in once a month. If you have to put them in and take them out every day it gets really old, really fast. That's been my experience, anyway.

i forgot to say thanks to you for the Ed game notification, MIR.  i really appreciated it.

also, i highly valued your input to the thread. i was wrong to have held pike and pike alone in such high regard.  as far as i'm concerned, you and pike are my number one contacts when it comes to this issue.

I typically enjoy wearing my glasses. I feel like I have a nice, stylish pair of glasses. But I don't want my everyday look to be glasses, necessarily. I'd like to be able to go out, and see well, without my glasses.

But if contacts are that much better than glasses, I'll consider it.

I wear my contacts most days, but wear glasses once in a while plus on weekends when I'm not really going anywhere to give my eyes a rest.
I don't really need a mirror anymore to put them in but I usually use one.

What are you guys doing to get sand in your contacts? I've never had that issue but I did get a paper cut on my eyeball in 5th grade.

The peripheral vision is the biggest difference. If you have really bad eyes, sometimes having to "aim" your eyesight onto something within the scope of the glasses is a pain. But... then again, it's just moving you head a few centimeters against putting something foreign in your eye.

Bottom line, just like with anything else, if you do it every day you won't really notice. You'll wish you had contacts if you ever broke your glasses. Anyone that wears glasses should at least have a box of contacts just in case. There's nothing that makes you look like a bigger idiot than constantly squinting at crap.

Can anyone beat JCiW/G prescription of -6.75?

Also, why the eff doesn't insurance cover LASIK? Seems like a pretty important aspect of your health to just not cover.

mine will cover part.    I'm hoping to do it next year.

They overcorrected my dad's eyes, he has to wear contacts now. Pretty much why I've been hesitant to do it.

He should sue the pants off of them and buy some new eyes.

This was my response as well. He's a veterinarian and wouldn't do it based on some doctor bro code.

No way.  I bet if he accidently killed their race horse they would sue the crap out of him.  He should kick those fuckers square in their wallet.
