I am prepared for secession. Reply
I have no desire to be part of a country that will allow an open slaughter house like New York is about to become. I have no desire to be part of a country that always makes it's most innocent pay the price for our selfishness.I have no desire to be part of a country that denies a child a mother or father in order to suit the desires of adults. I have no desire to be part of a country that values conformity over liberty. I have no desire to be part of a country that corrupts it's interpretation of the constitution in order to circumvent it. I have no desire to be part of a country that thinks morality changes due to public opinion polls. I have no desire to be part of a country where the majority of my fellow citizens look to government rather than themselves for their success. I have no desire to be part of a country that won't protect it's own borders. I have no desire to be part of a country that refuses to deny itself anything and continues to push it's children into every deeper debt. I have no desire to become an effete European wannabe country, where comfort and pleasure are valued over opportunity and duty. I have no desire to watch our society stagnate into the degeneracy predicted by Huxley, Lewis, Orwell, and others.
I do believe that we have veered so far off the path that we are now unable to correct it. We are past the point of reform, it will take secession or revolution. I prefer secession because I do not want to drag along those states that have bloated themselves with self indulgence, degeneracy and debt.
Our founding fathers avoided a democracy as we see below. They set up a constitutional republic to avoid the dangers of a democracy. By loading the SCOTUS with those who see the constitution as a "living" document we subvert the reason it was written in the first place.
Nor do I believe that this is the fault of any one party. The number in congress who actually understand how and why, our government was founded, is an extreme minority.
"Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts,
and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit
suicide." John Adams
"But government in which the majority rule in all cases can not be based on justice, even as far as men understand it." Henry David Thoreau

I'm with you on this. It would be very complicated (e.g., how do you take care of seniors in the state who are dependent on Soc. Sec.--you can't just throw them under the bus). The reality, though, is that we are going to be buried under debt, and our political leadership is fiddling while America burns.
We need to start over, so we can start with a clean balance sheet and not one that is so in the red that there is no hope of getting out..
We need to start over, with the same Constitution, but without the case law overlay that has read virtually all meaning out of the document.
We need to start over, with programs for the truly poor and elderly that make sense, and aren't simply designed to perpetuate dependency and the control of one political party.
We need to start over, without public sector unions and the corrupt system upon which they rely, which leads to an ever-expanding government that is unsustainable and which serves only the interests of the unions and their political supporters.
I am content to let the blue state model rule in the blue states. It is doomed to failure, but I don't want their failure to drag the rest of us down.

I have to chuckle at NY. They forgot to write an exemption for the 7 bullet maximum for the cops. So currently they have to abide by the same draconian rules.

If you believe in Federalism, why do you let NY do what it wants?

I figure the blue states would be glad to be rid of us so the libs can create their utopia with no impediments.

What do you mean?? Cops won't even have to fire a single bullet now that all the evil citizens don't have any guns. There will be NO WAY criminals can get their hands on any weapons...that would be wrong. (and illegal)
Case closed...
Now back to utopia...

Same group of states whose people can't hold their elected officials accountable for progressively raising taxes or raising the national credit limit further are going to rise in rebellion or secession? Right...

Starting with a faulty premise. The number may feel astronomical, but it's not beyond hope of getting out from under - we've borrowed at very favorable rates.
Now it would take a massive extremely unlikely shift to fiscal conservatism is Washington to do it, something that neither party has displayed. But that's true even when you reset the balance sheet to 0 too, or we're just right back where we started.

New York can do what it wants. i just don't want to be part of any country that has a state like that in it.

I didn't predict it, or even say it's likely. It's just my personal preference. But if you look at the states that would want to seceed they are the ones that keep their officials from progressively raising taxes or going further into debt. They are generally red in color.
