I think Gip in the paint will be fine if whoever is on Nick Young ignores him sufficiently enough to help

Seems like quick guards have been able to beat our perimeter off the dribble.

Like who?

Neither Johnson or Tharpe have good FT rates, FWIW.

Seems like a lot of people think we're playing the 2003 sqwawks.  The guys we're playing are a bunch of swingmen that cant dribble with black Ronald McDonald and an effeminate T-Rex at forward.  Oh, and they have no bench.

We when this one then sleep walk to a loss against tornadobirds.

McLemore is really good, but KU has been keyed by great PG play forever. Taylor, Collins, Chalmers, Robinson, Miles... all these guys were studs.

Johnson and Tharpe are not those guys. Now, they aren't bad, but they key is all those guys had assist rates in the upper 20s, shot 3s well AND had FT rates in the upper 40s. Johnson's FT rate is 21% and Tharpe's is 11%; these aren't guys that get into the lane and draw fouls like the typical Self PGs.

I think we can win this game, and its not silly to think so.

ut damn near beat them and they're a poor team that played horribly.  just look at the big 12 stats.  ku isn't way out in front of the pack they're at like .15 over par (having played tech and ut), kstate is .10.  it's a coin flip game.

A koug's post about Will.

Shocking.

And I'm just getting warmed up. The apex won't be until March 2014. Get comfy.

Seems like it was osu that kept getting to the rim.

I'll be honest... I'm not feeling too good about this game.  KU has been playing poorly all month, and it's not going to improve until Perry Ellis steps up and fills in for Kevin Young.  Young is a liability at times on both offense and defense.  He's a situational player who has been forced into a starting role.  I like his activity around the rim and his basketball IQ, but like I said, KU won't be a great team until Perry Ellis steps up.

On a side note, can someone explain why two top 15, first place conference teams are playing on the Big 12 Network?  WTF?

Apparently everyone in the media, despite not having anything bad to say about oscar, thought he was such a shitty coach that he wouldn't be able to take a 2nd round tournament team that returned all but one player and even have a ranked team, let alone be competitive in conference play.

I wish I knew beems. We played on the Big XII network in the 2010 game in Lawrence when we were both top 5 or 6 too.  Its dumb.
