Wow, it sounds like you live in an awful neighborhood, Bloodfart.

I'm embarrassed to show my face at the country club!

No one is going to break into your house if you are at home. Unless you are in a lifetime movie.

Also meth addicts.  rough ridin' unpredictable.

people knock on the door with the intention of shooting the person answering it all the time. Sounds like you and your wife reacted in a perfectly reasonable fashion, bloodfart.

Pretty restrained, if you ask me.  I'm parking the recliner in front of the door and next knock finds out if my Winchester is working.

No one is going to break into your house if you are at home. Unless you are in a lifetime movie.

Oh yes they do.  Sometimes three of them kick down your front door at 3:00 a.m. and drag you, your wife, your mother and your two children from bed at gun point, make you lie down on the living room floor and cover you all up with a big blanket while they rob the crap out of your house and then steal your car.  Then that same night the three of them kick down another guy's door and do the same thing to him except one of them smokes a cig with him while the other two finish up (they took his car too).  Then several weeks later they get caught by the police and tried by a total boss stud and sent to prison.  The end.
My prescience is fully engorged.  It throbs with righteous accuracy.  I am sated.

That's a great story, but it's somewhat unbelievable that they went to the trouble to cover the family with blankets and didn't even bother raping the women and kidnapping the children.

Or the first five minutes of an episode of Criminal Minds

I'm sure Lifetime will air reruns of criminal minds sometime in the near future.

I actually had my house broken into while I was in it about 10 years ago. Woke up at 5 a.m. and the back door was wide open. Grabbed my bat and walked to the front of the house. The front door was wide open.  Checked to make sure my room-mate had not been killed or raped. She hadn't. Called the cops. They took some jewelry, some money, two leather coats and a half bottle of Abercrombie and Fitch cologne. Apparently they hit about 5 houses in the neighborhood that night. They got caught a few days later selling our stuff at a pawn shop.

Yeah, they were. Their apartment was full of stolen things. They were forced to pay restitution. Used to get a check for $1.57 every month for a few years.

The families of the people killed by the Carr brothers disagrees with you.
