nearly impossible for me to go to sleep before 2am no matter what time i woke up the previous day.

It's nearly impossible for me to stay awake until 2am no matter what time i woke up the previous day. It's like I'm superman and you're bizarro superman.

for at least 4 years i went to sleep past 2 and woke up at 5:30am every weekday.  i WISH i could get to sleep at a normal hour.

Start playing hoops at 6am and it gets pretty easy quickly.

i wake up at 3 or 4 am more days than not.  and it doesn't help.

The only other thing I can suggest is to have kids. You'll eventually be able to pretty much sleep on demand.

Based upon your posts here, you are far too high-strung to sleep. You really should just take a deep breath, realize that the world's population problem, while very real, is not going to hit critical mass until far after you are dead, and that you are not going to have kids so it isn't their problem, either. Just sigh, relax, and start thinking about those poor rubes with kids and how their ancestors are all going to face a painful death that they and their forefathers bring upon themselves. Allow yourself to grow a deep grin, and before you know it, you will be the master of your own sleep and dreams as well.

I go to bed at 10 no matter what day of the week it is. On work nights I usually fall asleep about 10:30. On weekends it's closer to 11. I get up at 5 a.m. every work day and 7 a.m. on the weekends.

Guys, I'm a night owl. Midnight during the week and 3-4 am on the weekend. Sometimes I take a dame home on the weekend and usually I go right to sleep after the sex. Those are usually 2:30 nights.

Except last night when some bad person kids ding dong ditched our house @3am and got Mrs. Bf in a frazzle. GET OFF MY LAWN!    She sent me out with the shotgun to secure the house.  She also called the cops so I had to talk to the towny patrol also.    

Seriously? Called the cops over a single ding dong ditch? I'd hate to be on patrol in your area

Well, if they would have just ding donged it would have been fine but they also beat the piss out of the door for a few seconds.  I didn't hear a damned thing.  Mrs. Bf had to wake me up by saying "what if they have a gun."  That got my attention so I grabbed the Winchester 1300 and went to the kid's room first.  I didn't know she was calling the cops.

Yes, according to her they "beat on the door really hard."  She looked out the window and didn't see a car.  We live on a dead end street and its always been quiet and uneventful.

In her defense my uncle was staying with grandpa last year and one night someone was trying to beat down the back door.
Uncle Bf grabs the 12 ga. and goes to the back entrance.

Uncle Bf- "you come through that door and I blow your head off!"
Intruder- "GO AHEAD AND SHOOT ME SHOOT ME SHOOT ME!"

The guy kept trying to break down the door for awhile longer then gets tired and leaves in his truck.  Uncle Bf goes outside and finds the dumb bastards cell phone in the driveway.  He gave it to WPD Bf bro and they picked the dumb bastard up.
