I'm fine with Bill leaving now. He gave us more than we ever imagined in Bill 2.

I'm scared the replacement will under utilize poor daniel  :frown:

If Currie does the right thing and hires Dimel I'll be okay. If not, yeah.

I am getting emotional, guys.  So conflicted on this stuff.

Some one make Bill go hire some great young studs,  then make Currie pay them a premium, then make Sean leave.  Also,  I want a blow job from a super model and I want my dog turned into a dragon that I can ride to work.

I've got to be honest, with Bill being as old as he is and his reputation for work, I don't see any young studs lining up to come to Manhattan as assistants. At best we'd have to hope for DITR young coaches.

At this point I'm all for Bill going out on top and hiring Dimel and seeing what kind of staff he could put together.

But who knows.

Bill is just 'placing' these coordinators to gain insight into other programs.  They are taking one for the team.

I'm not saying Dimel would be good or bad, but why is he so highly thought of here?

Snyds is planning this retirement perfectly.  Delay it so Currie has no choice but to promote Sean or Dana as new HC, and all the recruits have signed so Sean/Dana isn't left with an empty class.  Scheme Doctoring it up.

head coaching experience, would keep a lot of the good parts of snyder's system, is a generally cool guy. i wouldn't call him a home run hire but i would be very comfortable with it.

Best option on the current staff and likely continuity to what Bill has build in round 2. No guarantee by any means, but he's been around the program and knows what it takes to win here. But he's also been outside, and I think is young enough and more of a personality than Bill, which would be nice to infuse into the program.

I don't think we HAVE TO stay in house to continue success, but I also wouldn't mind going that direction if its Dimel.

Still not convinced that Coach wants Sean as his successor. Wants to make sure he is still employed, yes, but I don't think he wants him as the HC.

Yeah, he wants Sean.

But overall I just think he wants to avoid the mess that happened last time. I think he'd be okay with Dimel if it comes to that.

Yes, I want Scott Frost on our staff.  Dimel would be okay at HC for me.  Sean can stay as STC

Dimel has been responsible for K-State's offensive orgasms since 2010. If Bill wants anyone to be our next HC it would be the person that he has handed over the offensive reins to.

The weird thing is the timing. Generally in the past coaches have either left right after the season or waited until after signing day. Its strange for two former K-State guys to leave, but really strange for them to leave now when it could still mess up recruiting, especially for lateral moves.

“When we feel like the waters are smooth, and the program is secure, then I’ll get back on to doing some other things in my life,” Snyder said in a phone interview this week. Then, he will recommend Sean as his successor.

“If I were to step down today, I certainly would,” he said, adding, “I think he’d be absolutely fantastic at it

Quote
Snyder said his son is uniquely qualified to be Kansas State’s football coach, that he understands the distinctive aspects of the position.

“You’ve heard me talk about that numerous times,” he said. “I’m very high on Sean as a football coach. He’s a tremendous leader and has the investment in the program that is unique. He understands how this works. Sean has been in this program longer than I have.”

So, would Snyder push his son for the job? Would he use his tremendous leverage at Kansas State to push the school’s president and athletic director to give Sean the job when he steps down, whenever that might be? And what about that thing you said about not encouraging him to take the Kansas State job?

Those are subjects Snyder politely declined to discuss.

No "I want the best person for the job".  No "That's not my job, that's Currie's".  Just "no comment".

Normally, I would think our recruits are DITR enough to be safe...but our coaching losses are to known KSU recruiting banditos Gundy and Bielema.

Smith will be the next to leave

Money and opportunities still rule for assistant coaches who want to move up,smitty is about to move on also,i know this as a fact, since Snyder return he have been standing right beside him in every game, sucking in all the knowledge he can get, then a Month or so ago on one of Snyder show he announced that Sean Snyder was more then likey the Coach in waiting, now come on people,do you really expect these coaches to hang around,Coach Snyder is sitting pretty good right now for retirement,he know he will not win a BCS Championship, not now, this was the year,he came very close,so what,s left now, will he retire, would you retire if you were in his shoes, i don,t think he will risk another let down in his legacy especially when coaches is starting to leave,Joe Bob is a huge lost,Smitty will be even bigger, and as for Big Moe he should have left with Ron Prince,he is so out of touch with the kids and he is not a good seller of the program,LET HIM GO,ok gotta go now, personally i think Snyder is the greatest coach of all times, there will never be another like him, sorry Sean.

I don't think people are as pissed that this band is being dismantled.  I think people are pissed at how/why it's happening and what it means for the future.

It's not "let's go out and get the best coaches we can find".  It's "let's promote the GA."
