Listing one player in plural form: "They need the Will Spradlings and Rodney McGruders to play big if they're going to contend" etc.

Use of the word "untracked."

As in, "Cat offense looks to get untracked after a slow start."

When people say "The Tom Bradys and the Peyton Mannings" it drives me crazy

When people say "it depends on the spot" it does not drive me crazy. Sometimes it's obvious whether it's a 1st down or not, sometimes you can't tell, and it's up to the official's judgment.

I hate it when people say "he's a high motor guy" WTF is a high motor? You don't pop the hood of a sports car and say "oh wow look at that high motor"

I hate it when people say "line duh scrimmage" because it's "line of scrimmage" and there is no "D" sound anywhere

*Get them in 3rd and long situations. (Has there ever been a defense that did not want to get the offense in 3rd and long situations?)

This isn't a phrase, but I hate when they show percentages for 3rd downs without breaking them down for 3rd and short, 3rd and mid-range, and 3rd and long. If it's 3rd and 10, I don't care if they've gotten 3/4 3rd downs so far this game, they were probably 3rd and short. They're all completely different situations.
