Kiper's latest position rankings has Howard at No. 6 QB (above Ewers), but no other Cats in the top 10 at any position (presumably Giddens, Parrish and maybe Kilty just outside the top 10)

Howard is benefitting from recent good play (and therefore getting hype), but no way will he go higher than Ewers.

Why not? There are a lot of questions about Ewers arm strength, and there's talk that his arm or shoulder are hurt. All I've read is how his stock is lower now than it was last year and he should just collect NIL money for another year. I don't think it's outside the realm that he'll end up back in the portal.

Howard is an ideal quarterback in all areas except throwing the football.  Scouts will love him more throughout this process.

It's a damn good thing throwing the football is not an important skill for quarterbacks.

To bad he only threw for over 4,000 yards and 35 TDs.  Did I mention he has rated the second-highest passer rating in all of the FBS?
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

Um what
I’m not saying he’s a bad passer or that it’s not important.

I am saying that scouts will love his size, his intelligence (Ivy league recruited him, I believe), wins in big games, coachability, and teammates that love him. It’s the type of stuff that will improve his position in the lead up to the draft.

Only 3 KSU players at the combine, but would have been hard for them to perform any better...

I was really impressed at Giddens 4.43 forty. I figured he would run in the 4.5-4.6 range but I guess he does have a good burst the first 20-30 yards, he just doesn't have the top end speed to keep it up and not get caught from behind on big runs.

Speed doesn't seem to have been the problem with our D-backs. Too many blown assignments, miscommunications and falling dow seems more a problem. Whenever I see posters in game threads claiming "we're so slow", I tend to dismiss it. Rightly so, it appears.

It scares me that our secondary could be that bad, while at the same time having that much speed.

They really weren't that bad though. We had a top 25 efficient defense.

I'll be happy if we get 2 guys drafted. Not sure if we will though.

Parrish, Giddens and Sigle will all get drafted.

Kilty has an outside shot, but probably a FA. Would guess Mott, Garber and Moore will at least get camp invites.

I don't see Giddens lasting until 166. If he was there at 133, I would hope the Chiefs draft him.

I know these rankings are always all over the map but this one surprised me regarding Giddens:

Yeah, I can easily separate the  player from the uniform, he's a really really good ball runner.
