Josh Freeman: Passes, throws picks, loses games, looks fabulous. Tucks hate him.
Klein:  Runs/gets sunburns, wins games. Tucks love him.
Sams: Runs/gets tattoos, scores TDs. Tucks hate him.
Waters: Passes, throw picks, loses games, goes commando. Tucks love him.

A huge Klein thing that tucks absolutely loved was how much he bled during games and kept playing.  Tucks love that stuff.

I'm not saying this to pass judgement on anyone or say anyone is a dumbass but if you actually believe that Jake Waters is even going to get a cup of coffee in the NFL you are a dumbass and I judge you as thus.

another data point: curtis kitchen tweeted that jake was one of the best passers in college football. I'm not judging that either.

so i watched the tobias lafayette youtube last night and although it was the second cat's game i've "watched" this year it was the first one that i've really watched. waters actually looks pretty decent. way better than coffman or gregory or meier or evridge or webb. that was pretty surprising i guess. with that said, i hope sams gets 100% of the snaps from here on out.

me too and it's nice that he's getting some snaps early in the season so that he's more comfortable if sams gets hurt and he has to go back in later in the season. i'm just going to think of these first two games as preseason nfl games where they rest the starters most of the game and save them for the grueling season ahead.

I haven't been able to watch much of each game, but even in the highlights posted by the AD, Waters seems to throw a lot of passes that non-garbagey defenses would pick off. That said, I can't imagine how giddy I would be if Sams had started, built up a healthy, clock-draining lead on NDSU, and THEN Waters came in and threw those deep balls. I mean, how exciting to have that kind of a back-up, right? Anyway, that's sincerely how I would feel in that scenario, just truly appreciative to have that kind of injury insurance on the sideline.

I think you are passing judgment. I am okay with it, but I just wanted to point it out. Your credibility is at stake.

I think he probably is in the top 33%. I'm sure that is probably what Curtis meant. :shy:

So, I just read the last 6 or 7 pages of this thread. Was Francis trying to make a name for himself with some outstanding trolling or did he make a name for himself with some outstanding dumbassedry?

This is my biggest critique of Sams from watching him this year and last year. He's got to do a better job of not taking direct shots when he runs the ball or he's not going to play much anyway. He seems to think he needs to run like Klein, but he doesn't have the body to take the hits that Klein took. I was glad after one of his long runs when he went down into a slide.

I'm fine with waters just barelling into defenders if he ever feels like trying that. his curl into a ball and fall to the ground move isn't my favorite.

thats the part that kills me, i know its been discussed ad nauseum but eff if there is no rhyme or reason to how bill has played sams why not let him get the 4th and 1 play calls. that crap is unacceptable

Waters is an amazing quarterback, just not very good at touchdowns, or passing in the redzone, or avoiding interceptions, or short yardage situations, or facilitating an offense complimented by a rushing attack.

I would like waters a lot more if he would just refuse to call the running plays for himself or hubert when they are signalled in. "welp, looks like they're calling for another short little dink and dunk pass play to TLBL/TT guys. I know, 27 in a row. weird. BREAK!"

i mean it honestly could be because he doesn't want to run the risk of spaghetti braining him before conference play even starts.

yep, nothing bill loves more than a coach on the field. if you are going to be our guy spiraldeliverysystem.com well you had better god damn be sure you get those first downs against lesser competition but instead on 3rd or 4th and short we are running 2009 florida's offense

Folks, Jake Waters has a 70% passing completion.  There's a reason NFL execs are literally salivating over the kid.  I mean saliva is dripping out of their mouths right now.

i think the coaches might have actually learned something from collin. in his junior season, he only had two games where he rushed the ball less than 20 times and it pretty much killed him. his senior season they cut way back on his carries to (in my opinion) try and keep him healthier.

junior klein-
+30 carries-one game
+20 carries-nine games
less than 20 carres-two games

senior klein-
+30 carries-zero
+20 carries-three games
less than 20 carries-nine games

overall, senior klein had over 100 less carries than junior klein and averaged .8 yds more per carry.
