Bob's a Hall of Fame coach for a reason.

Meh.  2 Final 4s in his 35 year career.  No championship appearances, let alone titles.

You cannot be serious.
  • 709–268 (.727)
  • excellent recruiter
  • 6 sweet sixteens
  • too many conference championships to count (pud conferences mostly, but one Big East title)
He's the best coach we've had at KSU in the last 20 years.  Absolutely turned this program around when it was pretty damn dead.  Brought in the #1 recruit.  Blessings upon Bob!

1.  Huggins
2a. Kruger
2b. Martin
4. Weber (could move up or down!)
5. Altman
... those other two guys ...

Bob is going to ugly the crap out of our game.  Angel will have to be the exact opposite of what he was in the OSU game to stay in the game and not foul out.  Have to have guards score.  Have to.

Honestly, worried about this one.

I agree.  And I also think he's a really good coach.  Just sayin he isn't a H.O.F. coach.  Probably an irrelevant distinction, but a fact nonetheless.

Guys liks Bobby Knight, Boeheim, Roy Williams, Calipari, Self, Izzo, Coach K are in the H.O.F.  Guys like Huggins and Rick Barnes are not.  Really, the only difference between Barnes and Huggins is 170 wins.  But, Huggs has been coaching about 8 years longer.

Bob's win total is very high.  I can't remember where he ranks now, but it is up there.  I would bet he makes the HOF.  He has had a fantastic career.  The NCAA BB NC is probably the hardest to win in all of college sports.  Discounting a coaches ability simply due to that is crazy.

I think it's much harder to win a football championship.

Bob Huggins will absolutely be in the Hall of Fame.

Dude has like 700 wins and will finish with over 900 by the time he hangs it up in 10 years or so.

21 combined conference and tournament titles.  The NCAA Tournament 14 of the last 15 years.  An average 23 wins a season over his career.  Hell, his personal coaching history is nearly on par with our entire basketball history.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

FB is more about opportunity given pollster votes and stuff.  the NCAA, all you have to do is make the tourney then it is up to your team to go take it with multiple games in short turns.

Kabongo is ridiculously overrated.

I'll take it a step further, I don't think he's a good basketball player.  He's being used as an excuse for UT being overrated again.  I can't wait until they come back and UT continues to blow.  I really like Rick Barnes but he doesn't evaluate players at all, he just targets whatever top 100 recruit he can find regardless of whether they fit or if the recruiting services over-value the players.

For all the BS both UT coaches get for doing "less with more" (while being the most sucessfull coaches ever at the school), it really does appear Barnes has kind of mailed it in on the recruiting trail.

I do believe Drew is as dirty as it gets but Barnes should be embarrassed the way he is getting owned for instate recruits.

i would love it if Kabongo played for the k-state powercats mens hoops team usa.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

It's crazy that Barnes has been to like 20 consecutive NCAA Tournaments.

He recruits well enough to finish in the top four of the conference most years.  He did very well until the last 5 years and it's been a steady backslide for them.  That team last year was not a tournament team, They may not have made it if the field weren't expanded.

Barnes and Mack seem to be having similar stretches lately (and ends to their careers?).

"he's not a good basketball player" was an admitted overreach, I should have just quoted ChiCat's post and left it at that.

I think somebody will hire Barnes after Texas fires him and end up with a home run. Unless you are a truly elite program, his recruiting alone would trump just about anybody else you could hire.

It's going to be a while before Texas even thinks about firing Barnes.

Nobody in Texas cares about UT basketball, including Barnes.
