Solid passive aggressiveness, but the fact remains that despite a hot start, with a relatively easy schedule, and limited injuries, the Stars have created little separation. The difference between 6th and 7th in the Central (8) is more than the difference between 1st and 6th (7). Dallas hasn't even had the hottest start to the season, Montreal has more points, GF, and fewer GA (fun fact, Montreal has played as many games against Western Conference teams as Dallas has).

Dallas and St. Louis play 3 games in December and Dallas has games against Chicago, Minnesota, and Montreal in between them. If they come out of that stretch in good health and still solidly in the Presidents Trophy race then start the hype train.

Unfortunately, Dallas is legit, probably the best team in the league :Yuck:

I think Washington is much more balanced. Dallas still reminds me too much of a team that will struggle in a 7 game series.

At least MIR can be fair and balanced despite not liking our Stars... By the looks of things so far, I'm not sure what team can get past game 5 against us in a series.

Do you know if Hitchcock has quit crying about the beating last night yet or not? Also, I don't watch a lot of Blues games... Are they always a bunch of dirty, cheap shot artists or was this weekend an anomaly?  I'll hang up and listen offline...

The Blues just took 2 of 3 (pro tip, there's no OT loser point in the playoffs) and are a very flawed team

Yes, how rude of Benn to run his balls into the butt end of Bortuzzo's stick without even looking.

Look, I don't think Dallas is perfect; I still think the defense is suspect, but you cannot deny their results. They are 7-3 against the Blues, Wild, Hawks, Caps, and Canadiens. Now that record is tainted a bit because they haven't had to play the titans of the pacific; Phoenix and LA, so they'll take their lumps there but they've done well against the rest of the good teams.

So...

Are we willing to admit D and goaltending might be a problem for Dallas yet?

Sorry @Shock Bonnet but that god awful blue line and average at best goaltending won't get it done in the playoffs. They better make a few moves before the deadline or else they will be prime to get bumped in the first round. 'Yotes haven't looked that domininant since we went to the Western Conference Finals four years ago.

Only time will tell if shot blocker extraordinaire Russell is the answer to help our porous defense, but this weekend's back2back at home with the 'hawks on Friday night and the blues on Saturday will speak volumes about our playoff chances.

Hopefully at least one of the sieves we put in front of the net figures it out by April.

Just looked at the standings today. Sharks have done better than I thought. Also learned Nashville is in the West  :dunno:
