oSu- A tale of two haffs: Peggy Po's/Nancy Neg's

Peggy Po's

Nino throws it down all over his haterz faces  What a game!  Putback machine.  Stan described it as “Globetrotter-esque.”  That makes no sense, but it speaks to a kind of “anything goes” praise that I would like to co-sign.  He saved us multiple times on fast breaks when we were unable to finish.  He boarded reasonably well.  And that exclamation point?  Fantastic.

2, 26 Wow.  Rodney was stifled in the first.  oSu’s 2-3 collapsed and bumped him and even the stints of man-to-man brought a lot of bumps and help off screens.  Rod could not get to his spots, forced things and missed some putbacks and leaners.  In the second, he left the lane and started cutting harder, flashing off screens better and floating open on the perimeter....It did not hurt that he was on fire.  Rod the Reptile.  So cold blooded.

Be AggressiveBeBe Aggressive!  Too AggressiveTooToo Aggressive! Angel was a pitbull.  He willed us through that first half and helped rack up the fouls on oSu’s bigs.  But he took himself out of the game in crunch time because he did not understand the situation.  He often gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar as the refs are trying to take the reins back, or evening up a call.  There was a lot of complaining about the refs, and Oglesby called a bad game, but Angel needs to keep himself on the court.  There is no excuse for him fouling out of this one.  As has been mentioned, Tay and Angel showed back up right on time.

Tay  good job Tay.  You did exactly what was asked of you.  Very tough D.  Perhaps should’ve played more of Will’s minutes.

“It is better to be feared than loved if you cannot be both”  Gip is both feared and loved.  FTB.  Love the sweat.

Shane’s sideline act is a delight.  Holding back teammates.  His handshakes, his smile.  He is the straw that stirs the bench.  In game. Shane did Shane things.  Very solid contributor.

fOOD check in not there yet, but several very legit loud moments.  Sandstorm moment (although a full student section was sorely missed once the music started).  I definitely felt the anger flow toward the refs (and not our own team) for the first time all year.  I told Markel Brown “U mad”, which was fun.

12 wins?  13?  WHO’S TO SAY!

73 points?  73 points!

FRISBEE DOG HALFTIME SHOW!

Nancy Neg's

Stop the ball  the first thing you must do, is stop the ball.  Our guards rely heavily on JO’s help.  The difference was obvious when there was a dunk contest/layup drill combo until JO got in.  He did not have his best game, but he is always a game changer on D.

DJamer’s new look.  That isn't a do, its a don't.  Good grief.  That was awful.  French braided pigtails?  What the hell.

Stripes  BOOOOOO!  Call it both ways guys!

Whiney crybaby Nash  Why don’t you go cry about it you crybaby?

Whiney crybaby Travis no one likes you Travis.

Why is Gip in Tay's section?

I think the MAN deserves some bolding

Rodney's emotion at the 1:28 minute time out. :D

Would like to add that I loved how we put the ball in Rod's hands at the end of the game and let him create, granted it didn't work out with a bucket. I still loved it.

I like that we got some transition game going. Hopefully that is something that we continue.

True this although they seemed a bit off their usual game. Not their best, but certainly not their worst.

THIS has been my biggest complaint about Weber. We have not shown the desire to push it and get easy buckets. I hope it continues or I"ll be on here bitching about it 'til March.

Not stopping the ball was maddening.  The other NN was freaking fouling.  Good lord we comitted a ton of stupid fouls.

I wouldn't put any of the guards on the PP list.  Probably not on the NN list either, but Brown and Smart outscored our guards something like 55-10 (I'm guessing).  They weren't particularly good on either end of the floor today.  They did enough to win, but the front court definitely carried us.

At least the guards combined for 15 assists, 12 rebounds, and only 5 turnovers. Shooting was terrible (1-15), but they did some other things alright.

Yeah, that's why I said I wouldn't put them on the NN list either.  Probably the most important thing that they did was get Smart in foul trouble.  And they all did some nice things throughout the game...but it was clear that they were hopelessly outmatched.

Meh. They missed a lot of really good, open shots, otherwise they were fine. "Hopelessly overmatched" is way overstated.

blindly grasping at straws, searching for a reason to criticize art.  if he gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar, it's because the other players are too pussyish to get their own cookies and he has to reach in and get cookies for all of them, then distribute their cookies in the exact spot they're capable of catching and eating a cookie.

same on defense.

Disagree I guess.  Smart and Brown are way better than Angel and Spradling.  It's not remotely close.  We had a good game plan and our guards excuted their roles (aside from making shots).  But we essentially had to concede that they (OSU guards) were far superior, and gameplan around that.
