Yeah, we could really use a big RB

http://www.kstatesports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/leverett_jarvis00.html

Scout team player of year and insidery stuff says he's  'Da troof'

He's listed as 203lbs. That's nowhere near a big RB.

I've stood next to him during warmups.  The kids a horse and will be great replacement for Pease.

You didn't think Ron Dayne or Adrian Peterson were gonna show up this spring, did you?

No, I thought that since you were responding to a post about big RBs you would mention a big RB. If the question was "do we have any average size RBs?" then mentioning Jarvis would have been completely appropriate.

Here's our other backs:

Hubert  5'7" 191
Rose  5'4"  174
Robinson  5'6"  206

So, by comparison...  Leverette is a "big back" by Snyder standards.   For future reference, what will be the height/weight minimums when referencing big backs so that I don't make the same mistake?

I'm really excited to see more DROB. In my imagination he is exactly MJD.

Yeah... He was a freak size-wise and those are few and far between.

Leverette is a really good size, shifty, speedy back.

Tre Walker doesn't play MLB. Also, Nate Jackson will start.

Walker is much better suited to play MLB than either outside spot.   What makes you think Jackson will just waltz in and lock down a starting corner spot ahead of the guys that have been here for years?

Walker is 220 or so lbs and he has a lot of speed. He is much more suited for OLB. I've just got a hunch for Jackson. There isn't much in front of him to beat out for a starting spot.

Arthur Brown is around 220 and has a lot of speed.

MLB suits Arthur's style of play much better. He is thicker than Tre and is a very hard hitter. Tre is much more suited for OLB than he is ILB. Idk why you're even arguing this.

I don't know why you're arguing this.  There are reasons why TW wasn't on the field as much as AB and Childs.  MLB doesn't come off during passing downs, for us SLB does.   If Tre is our best LB you want him on the field as much as possible, playing Mike, not Sam affords that opportunity.

We will be better at safety, more athletic at corner and a crap shoot every where else. We are going to have a huge issue on getting pressure on the QB next year.

Defense is gonna be scary next year..as in not very good  :bawl:

we said the same last season after losing five or six starters on defense.  I think it is a more true statement this year but we might have more disruptive ability on the DL (still depends on who we sign) and more speed in the secondary.  But it's difficult to see the level of play with so many graduations.
Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

Slaughter was the one that was slow as crap and got beat consistently during Snyder's first year back, right?

Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather have pretty much anyone start next year.  Would love to see Truman, Walker and Moore

I see nobody has given any love to Will Davis coming into this next yr as a RsFr? Has he not developed? Seems like he was decently touted out of HS as TX 5A defensive POTY. TIA to insidery info.

Do you think we'll bring any sort of screen game back?  Or is this a Dana Dimel/the way defenses are moving type thing?  I felt against Baylor and Oregon, they just blitzed, knowing the secondary was quick enough to close gaps on any separation our wr's had gotten because of Kleins inability to get the ball to the receivers quickly (whether it was slow developing plays or Kleins shortcomings). I felt like we did very few things to negate or slow down the blitz.

I am almost wondering if we would be better off running a 3-4 next year.

Anyone expected to show up at WR next year that is taller than 5'7?

Hell no, you need a monster of a D line to run a 3-4 and need linebackers that can really cover. We not close to having that.
