Tip Off
« on: January 04, 2013, 12:26:22 PM »
what percentage of the tip off do you guys think we will win this season?  any tip-off data we can run to compare our team (the cats), versus other top programs?

Is there any reason to believe we won't win them all?  what would our record be if we won them all?

tip off is always such a "toss up"  <--- :excited:

seriously though, would love to see some kenpom stats on tip off wins versus team wins analysis from the HBBIQ'rs

Would think that small ball and tip winning are never positively correlated  :dunno:

I think oscar should draw up a more offensive tip and try to win and get a lay-up each time. Of course he would have to start JO as he is probably our best tipper. We could score a basket on a lay-up and then immediately call timeout and then put someone else in though. Would probably be worth the momentum created, I mean just look how much Oregon's KO return helped them last night.

What if Diaz got on JO's shoulders for the tip? I think the rule is that only one person can be standing inside the circle, but, technically, Diaz would not be standing in the circle. Maybe Gip should be the guy on bottom, because he could still jump even if somebody was setting on his shoulders?

love the comment, agree that JO is our best tipper.  do you think he's focused enough on the tip?

perhaps a ron slaymaker "yes i can" camp is in order for JO.   HBBIQ'rs will know what i'm talking about here.

Rumor has it that Weber suggested a similar play to Gene Keady when he was Keady's assistant. Rumor further has it that Keady rolled his eyes, politely told Weber "No," and walked away mumbling "Some day John Currie will hire that guy."
